Re-imagine/Re-arrange Gaga's Tour Setlists!

Recommended Posts

Ever felt a bit disappointed by the way Gaga's concerts were set up, or how the setlist turned out?

Let's discuss changes you would have made if you were in charge! nat1

Monster Ball:

This concert was nearly perfect. So naturally there is not much I would change about it.

Jumping Film

1. Dance in the Dark

2. Glitter & Grease

3. Just Dance

4. Beautiful, Dirty, Rich

5. Vanity

6. The Fame

16. Teeth

17. Alejandro

Manifesto of Little Monsters

18. Poker Face

Apocalyptic Film

19. Paparazzi

20. Bad Romance

Encore:

21. Born This Way

Paper Gangsta should have been part of the 2.0 setlist. So Happy makes much more sense after Telephone and Speechless makes SO much more sense after So Happy. Yoü and I should have never been played imo. Apart from this there really wasn't much to change about this tour imo.

Born This Way Ball:

ACT I - NYC Night Club

1. Highway Ünicorn (Road to Love)
2. Scheiße
3. Government Hooker
4. Dance in the Dark

19. Bloody Mary

ACT V - Rebirth

Rebirth Film

20. Fashion of His Love
21. The Queen
22. Yoü and I
23. Part of Your World (Intro) / The Edge of Glory

Detailed:

This one could have been SO much better if she didn't change the original concept she teased at the iHeartRadio Festival to the whole Alien theme. I think the concert should have been a continuation of the Monster Ball as originally planned. Following Gaga and her friends along their way on the Road to Love. The stage would have been set up a bit differently. I think the castle was not a good idea. Despite the fact that it looked absolutely beautiful it took a way too much room on the stage and we also got no backdrop screens because of it.

ACT I - NYC Night Club

Gaga and her biker Gaga arrive on stage. Gaga's motorbike as seen below would have been a hybrid between a unicorn and a motorcycle. This section is set up like a dirty fetish sex club.

640px-2011-09-25-23-03-25-5-lady-gaga-to

1. Highway Ünicorn (Road to Love)

2. Scheiße

3. Government Hooker

4. Dance in the Dark

ACT II - Warrior Queen

Metamorphosis - Film (using samples of the Michael Woods Remix of BJ+AF)

Gaga rises on the stage sitting on a throne made out of skulls, guns and car elements. She's dressed as a "biker queen" wearing a long studded leather & lace couture dress by Versace and wearing this necklace:

The long top of the dress can be taken off.

5. Marry the Night

6. Black Jesus + Amen Fashion

The Birth

7. Born This Way (Gaga appears underneath the stage)

8. Hair Film (Short) / Hair (Gaga back on stage on a piano that's covered in hair.)

319px-The_Born_This_Way_Ball_Tour_Electr

9. Bad Kids (Shortened)

ACT III - Rivington Rebels

This section would be an on-stage recreation of the MTV VMA commercial. Gaga is wearing her Born This Way jacket, fishnets and a studded bra and underwear.

Judas (DJ White Shadow Remix - Short Interlude)

10. Heavy Metal Lover

11. LoveGame / Telephone - Medley

12. Just Dance

ACT IV - Refugee / The Kingdom

The first part of this section will be almost identical with how it was on the actual show. However the plot will be more about being chased after and trying to escape. Gaga and her gang are on the run and try to fight the government.

Government Hooker (Remix) - Interlude

13. Americano

14. Poker Face / Alejandro

Castle Film (Bloody Mary - Horrors Remix)

This section would deal with Gaga finding refugee in the Electric Chapel. After being crowned as Queen she kills the king to be with Judas and ends up being burned on the stake during Bloody Mary by her own people. The costumes are inspired by the Tudor period...lots of Roman Catholic imagery and all of that shit.

15. Electric Chapel

16. Judas

17. Bad Romance

18. Paparazzi

19. Bloody Mary

ACT V - Rebirth

Rebirth Film

This section is visually the brightest section. All the dancers are wearing white outfits, including Gaga who wears something reminiscent of a pearl-coloured dress with a fish scale optic.

20. Fashion of His Love

21. The Queen

22. Yoü and I

Encore:

23. Part of Your World (Intro) / The Edge of Glory

artRave.

ACT I – SPACE

Costumes:

Gaga appears on the stage wearing a futuristic white burqa and an austronaut helmet. Underneath the burqa she wears a clear/transparent space suit that is with some metal elements and wires. Her breasts are covered with white latex as well as her “south” jj1

Song Arrangements:

The concert starts with a PetGa welcoming every1 to the artRAVE, a travel through time and space.

Click Aura for link to the version. The tour version would be slightly shorter.

Scheiße / Poker Face are tied together as a medley. Poker Face has gotten a techno/club revamp and Scheiße is basically the same.

Bad Romance has gotten a remake by Zedd. It has more of an oriental space vibe to it, similar to G.U.Y. And Bad Romance.

The Judas Remix is an edited version of the R3HAB Remix and features a spacey video interlude filmed by Ruth Hogben.

Sequencing:

- The overall song choice for this section focuses on feminism, opression, arranged marriage, etc.

Rocket No. 9 ready for take off. Destination: Venus!

1. AURA

2. SCHEIßE / POKER FACE (REMIX)

3. BAD ROMANCE (REMIX)

Approaching Venus. Prepare for landing.

4. JUDAS (R3HAB REMIX) – INTERLUDE

ACT 2 – APHRODITE'S TEMPLE

Costumes/Stage:

Gaga rises on the stage to perform ARTPOP, dressed as a female Icarus wearing a glitter body suit and brown realistically looking wings. She disappears below the stage for a quick costume change.

For Venus, Gaga is now wearing another glitter body suit but is also wearing a large sea shell as head piece and her body suit is covered in barnacles, starfishes, etc. Gaga's dancers are dressed in typical Roman/Greek inspired costumes. Some of them are also wearing Hermes' winged sandals/helmet. After Alejandro Gaga is once again lowered below the stage for another costume change. The stage design includes a large clam and some more Roman/Greek inspired props.

For G.U.Y. and Sexxx Dreams Gaga is dressed in her Golden outfit from the G.U.Y. Video. She rises on the stage lying in a large canopy bed. For Sexxx Dreams her and her dancers are having an orgy and some of them are even faking masturbation and all of that naughty stuff jj1.

Song Arrangements:

The songs in this section are basically the same. Some of them feature extended intros. Click on them to have a listen.

G.U.Y. / LoveGame is basically an extended version of G.U.Y. That features a mid-section of LoveGame sung over the G.U.Y. Instrumental.

Sequencing/Meaning:

The songs all follow the whole Roman/Greek image. Gaga lands on Venus and discoveres her temple. Gaga is crowned the new goddess of love/beauty.

Gaga's Alejandro's are her cupids.

Landing complete. Please exit!

5. ARTPOP

6. INTRO / VENUS

7. ALEJANDRO

8. INTRO / G.U.Y. / LOVEGAME

9. SEXXX DREAMS

Rocket No. 9 ready for take off. Destination: Planet Earth. ______(name of venue)

ACT 3 – STARDUST

Costumes/Stage:

Gaga appears on the stage wearing a glamorous 20's-inspired couture outfit.

The stage includes some Art Deco props as well as the large Monster Paw prop she performs DWUW on.

The second half of the section is very colourful and Warhol-esque.

Song Arrangements:

She starts of with a short cover of Nina Simone's “Something to Live for” which blends directly into a jazz rendition of Paparazzi, which is based on the Stuart Price Remix.

After her performance of Paparazzi she breaks down on the floor and then starts to sing the chorus of Do What U Want a capella before the actual song starts. It also features several jazz elements but is mainly the album/solo version of the song. She performs it on the large monster paw prop.

The next performance is an R&B rendition of Born This Way.

After the first half of the section is over, a short house/ambient mix of Amen Fashion.

The three following songs are essentially the same as the album versions.

Jewels n Drugs is the same exact interlude from the artRave.

Ratchet / Government Hooker is the Ratchet instrumental with vocal excerpts and samples of Government Hooker. The video features Gaga as the “rave girl”, once again, shot by Ruth Hogben.

Sequencing/Meaning:

This section is seperated into two parts. The first part is kinda 20's and jazz-heavy, while the second half is very “poppy”.

The first three songs focus on the superficiality, judgement and criticism that comes with fame.

The last three songs deal with the positive sides that come with being famous, such as fashion and a rather exquisite lifestyle.

10. JEWELS N DRUGS – INTERLUDE

Entering horsehead nebula, the place were stars are born.

11. SOMETHING TO LIVE FOR (Nina Simone Cover) / PAPARAZZI (REMIX)

12. DO WHAT U WANT

13. BORN THIS WAY (REMIX)

14. AMEN FASHION (REMIX) / FASHION!

15. DONATELLA

16. MANiCURE

We have successfully exited the horsehead nebula and are getting closer to our destination.

17. RATCHET / GOVERNMENT HOOKER – INTERLUDE

ACT 4 – BLACK HOLE

Costumes/Stage:

Gaga is wearing a punk outfit, fishnets and has an overall really grungy look.

This section is darker than the previous ones and has lots of neon lighting and a lot of light effects in general.

She starts off as blonde and switches to a long brunette wig for MJH.

During Swine, Gaga is joined by dancers wearing air masks.

Song Arrangements:

The first performance is a medley consisting of dance meets rock renditions of Just Dance and Telephone.

The next song to be performed is Mary Jane Holland but with a MUCH BETTER choreography. The stage is bathed in neon green light and covered with dry ice.

Dance in the Dark is a rock rendition that uses elements of the Brits version as well as the album version.

The last performance is Swine which is basically the album version with Gaga on drums.

Jewels n Drugs is the same exact interlude from the artRave.

DANGER! Black hole ahead!

18. JUST DANCE / TELEPHONE (REMIX)

19. MARY JANE HOLLAND

10. DANCE IN THE DARK (REMIX)

21. SWINE

22. PARTYNAUSEOUS – INTERLUDE

ACT 5 – HOME

Costumes/Stage:

During Applause and The Edge of Glory Gaga wears her dreadlocks and a futuristic two-piece outfit. The upper part is white, slightly transparent latex version of her shoulder padded jacket with white leather gloves. Underneath she wears a white bra and slip. The lower part is a transparent latex skirt. She is wearing white fishnets and white boots.

The outfits for Gypsy always vary but they're generally more Gypsy-inspired.

Song Arrangements:

Album versions.

Ambient intro before Gypsy.

Sequencing/Meaning:

Gaga has landed on earth. She has traveled the whole world and is now looking for love and a place where she can belong.

ATTENTION! Starting emergency landing process!

23. APPLAUSE

24. THE EDGE OF GLORY

25. AMBIENT INTRO / GYPSY
