Why does Timber have 16 writers?

Recommended Posts

Assuming Pitbull wrote his own raps, it took 15 people to write this: brit14

Swing your partner round and round
End of the night, it's going down
One more shot, another round
End of the night, it's going down
Swing your partner round and round
End of the night, it's going down
One more shot, another round
End of the night, it's going down

It's going down, I'm yelling timber
You better move, you better dance
Let's make a night you won't remember
I'll be the one you won't forget

Wooooah (timber), wooooah (timber), wooooah (it's going down)
Wooooah (timber), wooooah (timber), wooooah (it's going down)

AND this song also only had three producers. The fuck? brit14

note: on the meltdown EP there are only 11 credited jj4

Actually no they're not. All the listed producers are writers too anyway, so that wouldn't matter.

I don't get what do you mean, a songwriter writes lyrics AND music, a producer manages the recording process, basically this is the difference

Of course often a producer could also do something more, like writing and playing instruments

Singers sing

Writers write

Producers enhance the vocals and make the back track

These are credited separately

Is that wrong?

Ok, but again: writers write lyrics and music, then producers produce that music

So obviously writing credits include the music and not just the lyrics

Oh sorry, I know what you mean now. Writers write the chords and notes as well. I forgot, my bad.

It was probably written in a jam session. Generally, everyone in the room gets a writing credit if a song comes out of that type of writing session. It also has a sample, which accounts for 3 of those
