Best way to get Last.fm scrobbles on IOS devices?

I did a google and tried some different apps, nothing works, including the actual Last.fm scrabble app

Syncing directly from your device provides pretty awful results in my experience. You should manage your scrobbles with one of Last.fm's desktop apps, every time you sync your phone with a computer. The results are much more consistent.

Sync to iTunes and the desktop lastfm app will see them.

The official Scrobbler iOS app works perfectly for me, but I always play music directly through the app and not through the "Music" app. Maybe that's your issue?

@Americunt it's still inconsistent, I have to open my phone every other song in the app for them to scrobble. I do leave the app open whenever I close my phone, while I play my music.

 

Edit: it's also worse if I sync my phone to my laptop.

I don't know why you're still scrobbling from any mobile app. Like I said earlier, the desktop application should be your only method of scrobbling if you want consistent results. Sync your phone to iTunes and the desktop app will catch all the plays; it just takes a couple minutes to catch up after a sync.

Not really. It's mostly meant for people who don't have the ability to sync their phones to a computer.

How long does it usually take for the plays to become scrobbles after syncing?

The application should pop up a window which will allow you to manually approve scrobbles pretty soon after a sync. Alternatively,  you can set the app to automatically scrobble everything on its own. Either method usually takes four or five minutes at most.

If you're having problems with the desktop application, go into the application preferences and make sure that the "Enable Device Scrobbling" box is ticked.

This hasn't been happening on my computer, even though the device scrobbling is enabled.

Yes! Go into settings and then click social and then connect your account. Spotify mobile and desktop both have last.fm integration!!

I'm late af but I use mScrob and it works fine @Sheezus
