Best/Definitive evidence Britney Spears wrote Everytime

Recommended Posts

Most people have probably seen the video her playing Everytime on the piano and talking about the process of making the song, but even more convincing than that is another  video clip of her playing the piano from 2003, the same year she released Everytime.

Maybe many have also seen this, but what they may not have noticed is that in the piece that she composed shown in the later half of the clip, as a youtuber rightly pointed out the chord progression of the first two bars is identical as the bridge of Everytime.  It's a different melody but what her left hand is playing remained unchanged in the official version.   That means she composed a song that was a top 5 hit in 17 different countries, #1 in five countries (including the UK )  and is therefore not talentless.

The other thing I noticed is that Janet Jackson was the inspiration for most of what this girl did during the first part of her career, when she was the biggest female pop star, more than anybody else, other than marketing, perhaps.

When you look at her fashion/dance style from the major performances in 1999 (or most of the performances from 1999-2004 involving any sort dancing), it looks especially obvious.

Edit: Nvm, misread something.

Then what did the credited co-writer who was in the room when Britney supposedly wrote it by herself do? oprah4

Yeah, you must've misread my post because while Annet Artani definately co-wrote the lyrics with Britney Spears, Spears clearly solely composed the music given that the clip, and the already existing clip of Spears playing Everytime on the piano explaining the melody/riff is obviously/ironically as much evidence she's composed music as any other female pop star even if they can play the piano better than her.

In fact in that interview Annet Atarni gave about the making of Everytime she doesn't even mention the piano melody; it's all focused on the lyrical content and unlike Spears, Atarni herself doesn't have a piano ballad penned by herself while also having a lack of writing credits in her discography.
