Angelus 11,476
Yeah, Material Girl (#2) and La Isla Bonita (#4) are Madonna's biggest signature songs after Like a Virgin. Into the Groove is also one of her classics and biggest hits but it wasn't released physically in US so... It was sure #1

R.I.P album sales I still can't believe Love Story only peaked at #4 I know it was mostly cause of chart rules but the sales and even recurrent streams would indicate a higher chart peak

It was sure #1 Cherish was also a massive hit apparently and was predicted to peak at number one but ended up being cockblocked by Janet's Miss You Much surprisingly. It peaked at #2 and was a WW Hit and stayed on the chart for 15 weeks. It topped the Adult Contemporary chart though. Then you have Frozen of course which peaked at #2 and Ray of Light which peaked at #5. Given tge acclaim and recognition, as well as the accolades they received then and now it seems weird that they were not actually #1 hits.
