Request your songwriting credit receipts here

Goldie

Hey gurls

So I work in music publishing and work with songwriting/song info. I won't have access to this info for much longer, so if you have any requests for credit splits/songwriting credits/how much a song is earning this month, for pretty much any song, leave your requests here and I can fetch the info for you :)

Example: You want to to know how much songwriting credit each songwriter of New Rules by Dua Lipa is getting:

Ailin Caroline, 33.33%

Ian Eric Kirkpatrick, 33.33%

Emily Warren Schwartz, 33.33%

(half of their percentages go to their publishers)

The shares aren't always split evenly, sometimes some artists who claim to write these songs are only getting 1-2% while their cowriters have 25% or even up to 50% of the work. So anything you are curious about feel free to ask (and then use the receipts in BG)

I will look into these sis ny1 I already did American Life songs in this thread and I’m pretty sure that Confessions follows the same pattern as Madonna’s other Albums (her and Stuart Price share 50% of each song) but I will double check and see if there are any anomalies jj2

I have to say from what I’ve seen for Mariah’s songs, WBT is an exception - many of her songs are just with one other co-writer each having 50% aside from a few lead singles/songs with features/etc

This is true also, you can look up almost any album up to Confessuons and it’s almost always just Madonna and her collaborator each splitting half and half

Like I said earlier, especially for Mariah’s earlier albums - most of her 90s discography is her + 1 co-writer. If you read the liner notes you can see which ones specifically (I’m not as familiar with Mariah’s discography as I am with madonna’s so you just have to check yourself but I’ve done a few Mariah albums in this thread). I think the takeaway point should be that both Madonna and Mariah are great songwriters
