Request your songwriting credit receipts here

Goldie

Hey gurls

So I work in music publishing and work with songwriting/song info. I won't have access to this info for much longer, so if you have any requests for credit splits/songwriting credits/how much a song is earning this month, for pretty much any song, leave your requests here and I can fetch the info for you :)

Example: You want to to know how much songwriting credit each songwriter of New Rules by Dua Lipa is getting:

Ailin Caroline, 33.33%

Ian Eric Kirkpatrick, 33.33%

Emily Warren Schwartz, 33.33%

(half of their percentages go to their publishers)

The shares aren't always split evenly, sometimes some artists who claim to write these songs are only getting 1-2% while their cowriters have 25% or even up to 50% of the work. So anything you are curious about feel free to ask (and then use the receipts in BG)

Gimme the tea for Nicki Minaj

Give me some song examples you'd like to see, maybe pick a few from different eras or ones that have a lot of cowriters so you can see how they measure up? Off the top of my head I can say Nicki's songs are usually in some sort of conflict (meaning the cowriters or publishers are claiming too much and they have to set up a dispute to get everything resolved) but give me a few song titles and I can pull up the info for you jj2

Here's an example, Barbie Tingz:

Onika Maraj - 60%

Jeremy Reid - 40%

(Half of their percentages go to their publishers)

Lust For Life:

Abel Tesfaye - 5%

Max Martin - 10%

Elizabeth Grant - 42.5%

Richard Nowels - 42.5%

(Half of their percentages go to their publishers)

@Goldie Can you check the Ultraviolence songs for Lana please? jj2 Some Madonna and MJ too. jj2

Give me some examples for Madonna and MJ, too many to pick from

Some Ultraviolence stuff:

Shades of Cool:

Elizabeth Grant, 50%

Richard Nowels, 50%

West Coast: same as above

Brooklyn Baby:

Elizabeth Grant, 50%

Barry O'Neill, 50%

Money Power Glory:

Elizabeth Grant, 50%

Greg Kurstin, 50%

Old Money: 4 cowriters total, Elizabeth Grant 12.5%

Black Beauty: 3 cowriters total, Elizabeth Grant 37.5%

Most of this album is Lana + 1 other writer and they seem to split everything evenly. Slay Lana cry6

I assume percentages are generally based on how much a particular person wrote toward the song

So like, if you are getting less than 1 percent of the credit you wrote like one sentence fall8

I am always curious how writing works. I assume songs where it is more even it was a team effort where the artist and writers actually sit down and work on a song. Or on the case of like 10 people it might be a song that came in as a demo worked on by many people then polished off by a few people

Your first paragraph - yes exactly, that is the implication, so when there's a few writers all with relatively similar percentages and then 1 or 2 writers getting 1-5%, you know they just made a change or two (or nothing at all) and put their name on it.

Girl, it's obvious that she's gonna have a 50% share on all her songs.

I'd much rather like to know how much Gags contributed to Fartflop given that some songs have like 10 co-writers! ny5

I am curious about Love from Golden jj2

The credits on physical editions are misprinted and it has several other writers besides Kylie so it seems more like a Fill track that came in to me rather than one she really worked on
