BEYONCÉ Review

Seeing as my last review was about two and a half months ago I thought I'd rihvive this blog with another Beyoncé review. So here is my review of the best self titled album ever released, and the second best album period. rav1 (my favourite album will be reviewed next time  rav1). I'm going to give each song a score out of 5 for the visual and a score out of 5 for the audio, and add them together to get a score out of 10 for the entire package. I'm doing this because I believe that this album is best with the visual, and it was kinda the entire point of the album sooooo without further ado let's get this started!

PRETTY HURTS - 10/10

Visual - 5/5

Honestly this has me shook every time I watch it. It's so beautiful and emotional; it's such a journey all the way through. I love the visuals when she is being asked the question in the middle, it's just so beautifully done and never fails to make me tear up. Such a strong start to an amazing visual album.

Audio - 5/5

Much like the visual, the song is absolutely perfect. Thank the lord Bey snatchedt this right up from Sia because it's such a powerful song with a beautiful message. The bridge is insane and the vocal delivery is amazing.

GHOST/HAUNTED - 10/10

Visual - 5/5

WOW. Firstly I'd like to comment on how perfectly this flows on from Pretty Hurts, truly iconic. The Ghost video is incredible. So simple, but just so amazing. The Haunted video however is NEXT LEVEL. Never fails to amaze me. Beyoncé plays the sexy bad bitch so well and AHHHHH bey2bey3bey4bey5bey6

Audio - 5/5

Again, this song is just as perfect as the video. I LOVE the heavy bass and vocal effects used in Ghost, it sounds SO, SO, SO good. I love how on the audio album, these tracks flow so smoothly. This song is just so sexy, sultry and seductive. Love it.

DRUNK IN LOVE - 7.5/10

Visual - 3/5

Honestly, such a step down visually. The first two visuals were so fantastically artistic and beautiful and then this visual comes to ruin it. It's cute, but boring imo. The B&W is kinda tacky and doesn't fit at all and I often skip this visual as it gets in the way of my viewing experience. I would've preferred if this was after the credits, much like Formation is in Lemonade. I think it would fit a lot better there.

Audio - 4.5/5

This song is a timeless bop, no doubt. I really, really enjoy this song but for me, Jay's rap kinda ruins it for me. It's probably because I personally do not like his music but I often find myself skipping this song when his verse comes on.

BLOW - 10/10

Visual - 5/5

THIS VISUAL IS EVERYTHING!!!!!!!! alex1 Fits the song PERFECTLY. alex1  LOVE THE GLOW IN THE DARK AESTHETIC alex1 LOVE THE LIP SYNCING BITS, SHE LOOKS SO SEXY alex1 LOVE THE ROLLERSKATING, IT'S SO CUTE alex1 LOVE WHEN SHE'S ON THE CAR, IT'S SO SEXY AGAIN alex1 SLAY ME QUEEN alex1

Audio - 5/5

Definitely a standout track on the album for me. Such a fun BOPPPPPPPPPPP and the bridge is SO GOOD YESS QUEEEEEEEEEENNNNNNN

NO ANGEL - 9/10

Visual - 4/5

Cute, but nothing spectacular imo. Kinda fits the song and is okay but I do sometimes skip it.

Audio - 5/5

Her vocal delivery.... BEYBEY why do you have to make everyone sound like a DYING CAT when trying to sing along to this song???? Seriously tho her vocals are AMAZING, the verses are definitely a vocal standout of the album to me.

YONCÉ/PARTITION - 8/10

Visual - 4/5

While I do think the visuals both fit the songs, I think they're a little boring. Partition is fucking fantastic and fits the song PERFECTLY. So sexy. But the Yoncé one, to me, is quite boring.

Audio - 4/5

Love this song. Don't know about the end of Yoncé tho however it does flow nicely into Partition. But yeah a raunchy BOP

JEALOUS - 10/10

Video - 5/5

STUNNING. Her outfit in the start is seriously amazing. Love the emotion portrayed in this video. You can really feel her anger, confusion and sadness when watching this video and I love that about it. The ending is beautiful.

Audio - 5/5

Definitely one of my favourites on the album. The bridge is so emotional and always makes me cry bitch. The instrumental break also is very intense for me and leaves me time to reflect on the message of the song. Such a gem

ROCKET - 9/10

Visual - 4/5

While the video is very, very, VERY sexy and fits the song amazingly, it's quite boring tbh. I'm glad the video version is shorter than the audio only version because I don't think I'd be able to sit through 6.5 mins of her rolling around a bed being sexy and showering.

Audio - 5/5

I love the entire feel of this song. Imagine having sex to this - wow. Love it

MINE - 10/10

Visual - 5/5

Literally so beautiful I cannot even start. Bey also looks fucking INCREDIBLE WOW

Audio - 5/5

Probably my favourite Beyoncé song EVER (even tho Drake ruins it). I just have never gotten over how amazing this song is. I just cannot

XO - 9/10

Visual - 5/5

SOooooooo genuinely cute!! Makes me smile every time I watch. Adorableeee

Audio - 4/5

This song is kinda overrated tbh. It's very cute and a great pop song but it's definitely not a standout track. It's okay tho and I always bop to it

***FLAWLESS - 6/10

Visual - 2.5/5

Honestly, boring. Nothing happens. Next

Audio - 3.5/5

Overrated again. Sorry but I can't listen to this version after hearing the perfection that is the remix ft queen Onika Maraj.

SUPERPOWER - 6.5/10

Visual - 2.5/5

My least favourite video by far. Sorry bout it but it's very, very boring to me. I don't think I've ever watched this all the way through.

Audio - 4/5

This song took a very long time to grow on me, but it's okay now. Definitely not one of the best songs on the album at all but I can tolerate it.

HEAVEN - 10/10

Visual - 5/5

HOLY FUCK, what a journey this visual is. Things like this remind me of how talented Beyoncé actually is. She's such a great actress and this visual is so sad. Whenever me and my friends gather to watch the visual album, or when I'm watching alone we always vow to keep silent for the entire video and just sit and let it encapsulate us. This is exactly what this video does, it sucks you in and makes you feel all the pain Bey felt while writing this song/filming this video. It's so stunning and definitely my favourite visual. The end is a little bit seizure inducing tho lmao

Audio - 5/5

Again, such a beautiful and emotional song. Absolutely flawless

BLUE - 10/10

Visual - 5/5

Such a cute little video. It's so nice to see how much Bey really loves Blue. After seeing what she's gone through to finally have Blue, and how much pain she felt in the Heaven video, it's beautiful to see that mother-daughter connection on screen straight after. It gives a sense of hope that I love.

Audio - 5/5

Again, a very cute song. I loveeeee Blue's part. "Bey-sy-ay" is sooooooooooooo fucking cute.

GROWN WOMAN - 10/10

Visual - 5/5

This visual is incredible. The technology used to make it look like Baby Bey was talking is insane and works so well. Such a cute throwback and great album closer

Audio - 5/5

Great closer. Cute song. Not much else I can say tbh

OVERALL, 90/100

This album is incredible. Without a couple of songs, this album would definitely be a 100/100 from me.

Stay perched for my review of the best album ever released. Coming soon (maybe tomorrow)

That's why I said "I'm glad the video version is shorter than the audio only version because I don't think I'd be able to sit through 6.5 mins of her rolling around a bed being sexy and showering." jj1jj2jj3
