I'll show you how valuable Hermione can be

I don't come on here much anymore, but I used to regularly share my personal and professional aspirations with you all on my blog and around the forum. It seems like every other day I used to vent about something in the Let It Out thread, and now I have no reason to because life has gotten so good since then. I know it's cliche, but things really do almost always get better if you work hard and give it time. The past few days in particular have been completely surreal, and I feel so inspired. I can't stop singing, dancing, writing, smiling, laughing, and crying (happy tears, obviously). I love my life, I'm so happy, and everything is perfect for the first time ever.

If you're wondering why I'm in such a triumphant mood, this happened over the weekend:

I've experienced such an outpouring of love and appreciation from my family, classmates, coworkers, professors, church, and friends online and off over this achievement. I was also the inaugural recipient of a new award created by my school, and I'm so honored to be recognized in this way. My cap decoration is a message to everyone who said I couldn't do this, including some who are very close to me (all of whom have since apologized), and it hurt at the time but ultimately motivated me to study, hustle, and grind even harder to prove them wrong.

Even though the last few days have been amazing, I refuse to let this be my peak. I may have one degree down, but I still have three to go and a whole career ahead of me. I'm already planning my next move, and will be starting teaching classes this summer and transferring to the most prestigious teaching university in the area this fall. The world of academia is my home, and I never want to leave it. I hope to change lives, leave a legacy, and inspire the next generation, and doing it in the classroom through literature and language is as good a way as any. I also plan to keep writing stories and songs, getting involved in my community, and staying in touch with the wonderful friends I've made at school as well as continuing to make new ones.

Thank you to everyone who has embarked on this journey with me. I'm glad I could be part of yours.
