  1. She never really cared for the charts at all and honestly, she doesn't need to have a #1 anyway. She'll be THE BEYONCÉ with or without a #1 hit and people will always see her as the queen b i zon't make the rules

  2. I don’t think anyone really cares about her getting a solo hit besides her obsessed haters tbh. My only problem with my fave is that she doesn’t promote SHIT and it drives me NUTS. So I think there’s your answer for that.

  3. No because being an artist doesn’t have an age limit. To imply that someone in their 60s can’t have a career anymore just because they’re not young is wrong on so many levels. If the person still has a desire to do what they love and are still able to do it, then by all means do it. Writers will write until they pass or physically cannot write any longer. Performers will perform until they pass or they’re unable to perform anymore. Creators of any kind will create until they pass or cannot create anymore. I’m an actor and an amateur filmmaker and I hope to make my career from that. I plan to d

  7. Doja has always been a troll. Go back as early as you can on her socials, the girl has never not fucked around with everyone. I genuinely believe these were moments of her being a complete dumb ass, which she admits, and have been taken out of context. I think for now she’s on thin ice, but I truly think these moments were exaggerated to spin the narrative that a lighter skinned black woman is anti-black, which happens far too often tbh

  9. #RoyaltyListens #28: Mariah Carey - Glitter (2001) #JusticeForGlitter! To celebrate that "Glitter" is finally available on streaming services, I thought it'd be a great opportunity to do a listening thread of "Glitter"! I have actually listened to this Mariah album maybe once or twice, so I can't really remember how any of the songs sound like, so this is (almost) going to be a new experience for me. I am very, very, very excited to try out this album and I hope you will all join me tomorrow at 9:00 pm to listen to "Glitter"! Tracklist: 1) Loverboy (Remix, ft. Da

  12. "when you wanna smash, I'll just write another one" Beyonce certainly doesn't need the charts, nor does she give a flying fuck about his singles. She's reinvented the album release strategy, created ART, toured STADIUMS and sold millions of albums But I dont need to tell you what she's been doing, her chart history or impact because you seem to be fully aware and we can see it makes you seethe All of our faves play to their strengths, which is why Beyonce has been recording an album and Britney has retired

  13. Why are people as usual missing the point of the thread on purpose? I see the usual « ageism!!!1 » comments, @Kristina didn’t state that you can’t have a music career at a certain age but that your brand should grow as you age. Trying to act like a wild party girl when you’re pushing 60 is just cringe-worthy, but let the age-shaming comments come. But to answer the question, I think an artist who’s still passionate about their career when they’re old is beautiful and no they shouldn’t retire if they still find interest in it. But there’s a graceful way to do it, as long as they do

  22. This basically, but artistically she continues producing great music and selling out stadiums around both the US and Europe. Why doesn't she get a solo #1 hit? She basically won't release singles to promote an album and also won't promote shit. Legendary status.

  25. What a lame-ass thread, sis. We are talking about pop stars here. If Madonna wasn't provocative in the past, then she would be embarrassing for being provocative now. But that's not the case. Age appropriation and music... I mean, there are artists in their 20s and 30s who make music that sounds childish. Is that age appropriate? If an artist (older than 18) delivers cringe worthy lyrics that are an insult for intelligence, is that age appropriate? In Madonna's case, we fans can drag her for delivering something below her level like Bitch I'm Madonna, but being pressed for her looking

  27. I watched the whole thing and I feel she should've done this before. You can tell she's not bullshiting because she's going straight through bullet points without being overly dramatic or playing the victim, giving clear and concise explanations on all the things that have been said about her, not only the most controversial ones. We'll be streaming Like That when she drops it.

  29. My comment was focused in stans and social media. If i include the media, they were being 10x times more vile to her, and they were calling her a grandma in her early 30s, now the media won't even dare to hate women at 30s-40s for being too explicit for their age, cause of Madonna. As they won't dare to judge any other pop girl when they'll reach Madonna's age, cause of her again.

  31. I think Madonna is incredibly cringe, but she is well within her rights to be cringey In fact, there are plenty of younger artists who were just as cringey during their peak (such as Miley, Nicki etc.). The ageism on this forum stretches to other members on here as well. Apparently being in your 20s is like having one foot in the grave already

  33. I'm surprised this is still going. I haven't taken the time to watch the video yet but quite frankly this is ridiculously drawn out. I've never particularly cared for Lana or her music, but the fact that so many people think she's being racist feels like a bit of a reach. She has gotten immense amounts of backlash for her image and lyrics and the like which only recently had turned around with all of the praise her most recent album acquired. It was just a matter of coincidence and poor wording that made things take this turn. All of this could've been avoided had she just not stated

  34. While it’s counterproductive to just make ageism about Madonna like he does, ageism is a very real thing. Countless men and women of all creative fields (writing, art, music, dance, etc) are finding themselves looked over, discredited, and shamed for doing what they love at their age. It’s not something leveled against one person, it affects hundreds and hundreds of people. And I’d hope beyond petty stan nonsense that as a person you’d agree there’s something fundamentally wrong with saying a person shouldn’t do something that’s important to them or that they enjoy just because they’re older,

  35. again -- it's possible to recognize both the point she's making about the misogynistic criticism she received early in her career AND the fact that the way she presented her point was ignorant and racially insensitive. they're not mutually exclusive.

  40. Honestly I really hope Britney retires before she gets grandma old, or at least changes her music/image a little to something more age appropriate. I don't wanna see her half-ass dancing in her underwear when she's 60 I really don't want her to end up doing shit like this either: wbu?
