  6. Oh Well I'm not too worried about that tbh, I'm used to.. degenerate characters but oh yeah I can see how Cloud Atlas would be confusing I kinda felt the same way about Westworld back when it premiered, but then again that show is confusing to everyone even if you've watched the trailers Oof! Excited for you to watch The Good Place! I like these kind of easy watching shows tbh, not as intense as drama/sci-fi/thriller etc but still fun and makes you think, so to me it's kind of like the perfect middle between the serious dramas I watch and the mindless reality TV shows (a

  7. I just meant because you said you'd had a different expectation of what the series was like, it's probably better to at least understand that all of the characters are just degenerate psychos But then again episodes are literally titled "The Gang Finds a Dumpster Baby" or "Dennis Looks Like a Registered Sex Offender" so you'd probably figure it out then at the latest I can see what you mean about spoilers, I'm not one of those people who need to read spoilers early or watch every single clip on YouTube before the movie is even out, but I wanna at least know the premise and see the trailers.

  8. I try to go into everything blind actually! It's like kind of a thing with me I generally HATE spoilers. Like, even the smallest ones. Including trailers. So I go into things completely blind, be it a TV show, a movie, a game, etc. Pretty much anything. Keeps the suspense alive! That sounds quite.. interesting tho! I can see that being quite fun to watch! Did you enjoy them? You should watch The Good Place tbh! It's not very long, only like 4 seasons I think? p.s: even though I'm strictly anti-spoiler, I don't really mind everything we've talked about so far, because I barely kn

  9. Oh, OK, it would probably really be something to go into that series blind It basically isn't "problematic" because they're all so exaggeratedly horrible to such an absurd degree It works because it's established, but if you flipped on an episode of Friends where one of them is acting suspiciously and the others think he's a serial killer and are excited to torture him to get him to admit it when really he's embarrassed and hiding that he's hiding that he's having sex with a pre-op transgender woman, you'd just be like Oh OK, I watched Fresh Off the Boat for the first couple of

  11. Not gonna lie.. I had VERY different expectations of what It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia is like I think I wouldn't say any of the things you listed is "problematic" though, like some subjects like Hitler is obviously a little touchy but they're pretty standard to me Well, I don't really watch too many of them but I love The Good Place! Then there's also Fresh Off the Boat, Superstore, Melissa & Joey and Kim's Convenience. I think there may be a few others but I can't remember them

  12. It's probably because all of the characters have all been unambiguously horrible people so there's never any question to what they're doing is wrong For example these are the plots of some episodes: - Charlie lies about having cancer so his friends will feel sorry for him and get him a date with a woman he stalks - Dennis and Dee intentionally become addicted to crack to qualify for welfare - The gang ends up kidnapping a critic who gave their bar a bad review - Mac is jealous that his transgender ex has married someone else so he protests gay marriage - Dennis

  14. That's good about Parks and Rec, at least unproblematic comedy shows exist I haven't watched It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, I've heard of it though I don't mind some problematic humor tbh, like I'm not overly sensitive or anything but it depends on what it is It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia is like one of the most beloved shows though, and I haven't seen anyone canceling it on Twitter yet so I'm gonna guess it's safe.. for now

  16. It's pretty much a "whole life obsession" with me With Parks and Rec, I haven't seen it in a while but I would say not to my recollection I'd say they do tone Michael down to some degree as it goes on, yeah. One of my favorite shows of all time and the namesake of my username is It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and they too have what could maybe be called "problematic humor", but nobody seems to mind and it completely works because unlike Michael Scott, who they still want to be likable to a fair degree, each and every member of "the gang" in Always Sunny are miserable, horrib

  19. They're all kind of obscure, all sitcoms that got cancelled after 1-3 seasons in the early 2000s I think they could get away with it because Michael is depicted to be complete moron who is unhappy in life, so he's the target in such jokes, although they kept softening him to more likable as it went on and only kinda dropping his political incorrectness, and some episodes like Diversity Day are just insufferable anyway Parks and Rec is pretty good! Haven't seen it all the way through though.

  20. True, and also I'm doing the early numbers and we didn't do as badly as I thought EARLY NUMBERS Mariah - 106 Taylor - 55 Selena - 38 Britney - 36 Beyonce - 34 Gaga - 31 Madonna - 29 Xtina - 24 Ariana - 20 Lana - 20 Katy - 13 Dua - 8 Kylie - 1 Rihanna - 0 Doja - 0 #3 isn't too bad for a Spotlight section

  22. Oh yeah, that was what I did with some shows like Andy Richter Controls the Universe, Titus or Undeclared Knew it wouldn't take long and it'd be fun. I would guess the latter mixed with mocking Dwight I just realized there's a second joke of that nature in the series - there's one Halloween episode where Michael and Darryl are fighting, and at his angriest Michael changes his costume to be Darryl, so he wears his warehouse uniform and an afro wig to impersonate him, but if you look really closely you can see some dots of makeup on Michael's neck, which implies that he was gonna d

  24. Oh yeah I also get the appeal, it's a bit less.. daunting! but only for older shows that have passed at least. For newer shows, I prefer at least 3-5 seasons, because I get attached and always want more Karma Houdini.. the name sounds kinda hilarious and oh.. well! Tbh it's a bit hard to say.. like the Dutch Piet is a very divisive topic even in Netherlands, or so my Dutch friend told me. He doesn't believe that it's offensive because the Dutch blackface doesn't have the same historical context as the American blackface but then again he's white, so who knows! I'm not too sur

  25. Yeah, I've seen the first season of that, I definitely plan to see the other two - how did you feel about those? And yeah, I really like Krysten Ritter as the lead, but unlike Daredevil I wasn't as familiar with the source material so I neither had high nor low expectations so I just judged the show by its own merits. Yeah, hopefully they'll come back in some form or another because it would be a huge waste to cast those performers aside I have figures for many of the Netflix characters but for JJ I bought a second Jyn Erso (Rogue One) figure so I could cut up her hood and give Jessica her sc

  26. PERIOD! It's the same with Jessica Jones played by Krysten Ritter. She's phenomenal. You should check out Jessica Jones too! It's such a shame they cancelled all the Netflix shows cause they were really well made and just had the perfect MOOD for the stories/characters.

  28. The only other one I've seen is the first season of Jessica Jones, which I also liked quite a bit but I'd probably give the edge to Daredevil. Did you see The Defenders? Figure I should watch that in between seasons 2 and 3... He is incredibly well cast when I already like a character I sometimes have reservations/preconceived notions about adaptations, but it also goes the other way - when someone nails a role I appreciate it that much more, and he delivers.

  31. Yeah, it's not a whole lot of episodes either so you won't have to tackle many seasons unlike the US version I get the appeal on that, actually, sometimes I like seeking out a show that only went one or two seasons just because it'll be easy to polish off Yeah that was one of his most deserved comeuppances To refer to TV Tropes again, sometimes he's a bit of a Karma Houdini Yeah that's exactly it, basically they're letting Dwight run the Xmas party this year and somebody googles what exactly they're about to experience, and when they discover the Black Pete thing everybody imm

  32. Well that's good to know, I think I might give the British version a try eventually. I'm sure it'll have it's own charms to it That "googie googie" bit was so uncomfortable to watch but I liked that it ended in a slap! Michael deserved it tbh. I can't comment on the blackface since I'm not there yet and don't know the context (I saw that they removed an episode of Golden Girls because of blackface.. when it was literally just a mud mask), but I'm not too surprised considering Hollywood's kinda on a hell of a purge right now I'm gonna guess the blackface is the Dutch Sinterklaas tradit

  33. I'm not sure what they meant but I don't think the British version is confusingly British to any degree Maybe they just mean it has more British-style cringe comedy, which it does, but the American version does too, just in a less refined way. He had a good role on the show, he kinda had to play both the straight man and be the prankster at once. Oh, there's no way Especially the "try my googie googie" bit, that was always unwatchable I actually heard earlier that they edited one episode of the series on Netflix because Dwight's cousin appears in blackface because of an old Euro
