The industry has changed A LOT since “Teenage Dream”. So much so that the only fair way you can compare an album released this year and 10 years ago is by the music only. ”Teenage Dream” is Katy’s most iconic and most successful era, but I don’t think “Future Nostalgia” is Dua’s peak era. She’s just getting started.6 points

re: the -mostly- Gaga stans rushing in fucking hives into a positive Dua thread while presumably ~bopping to ARTPOP rehashes, 90s eurotrash and whatever mockery your fave served on that turd of a record always has me in stitches for some reason. "its not even that good!!!!11111", "omg is Dua so big now???" well guess what, just because yall can't STAND seeing another female pop artist have her moment -rightfully so- during a year that was supposedly and yall thought it would be about your fave killing it -she hardly is, once a fad always a fad i guess !!- doesn't take away from Future No3 points

Smile (song) is a bit underwhelming. Love the lyrics, glad that she has gotten happier, but the composition lacked a punch. It really sounds as if Birthday and This Is How We Do merged into one song with mental advocacy as the lyrics instead of sex and stimulation.3 points

AND YOUVE GOT A SMILE THAT COULD LIGHT UP THIS WHOLE TOWN I HAVENT SEEN IN A WHILE SINCE SHE BROUGHT YOU DOWN YOU SAY YOURE FINE I KNOW YOU BETTER THAN THAT HEY WHAT YOU DOING WITH A GIRL LIKE THAT3 points

TD sweetie im so sorry pls FN’s impact is literally just one song. Dont get me wrong, the album is good but its not THAT good one of the most overrated albums ever tbh3 points

didn’t she say she didn’t want to do perfumes anymore3 points

Kinda but like Future Nostalgia is not even comparable to the sales success than was Teenage Dream. 1989 was the last TD-like era, with an endless string of hits & excessive sales. I think the next Ariana Grande album, it more pop, will be a TD era. Surprising too because it’ll be her Sixth album, which is huge. FN is still a great era. But Dua ain’t peaking yet3 points

Dua deserves all her success but no one will be close to touching Teenage Dream's success.3 points

It's actually pretty catchy – even though it pretty much sounds the same as most Katy songs, ngl.3 points

Finally a decent tv performance by my queen I love her so much ugh she slayed this2 points

It's nothing groundbreaking but it's a fun little burst of energy. The bridge is really jarring and hollow though, I hope they put Diddy back on the song as a remix or something2 points

Is the aim of the game to not only eliminate the worst songs from Honeysnooze, but also our patience and remaining cognitive functions? @Ghostface2 points

genuinely one of my least favorite katy songs ever it sounds so..........dull...and the complete lack of a bridge...idk it sounds like a demo and is irritatingly repetitive...i'm really gonna hate this era huh really hoping the other songs on the album serve more NRO and less this and daisies2 points

Remember when I predicted the tracklisting for Katy's new album? Yeah, I really did something yes. I'm glad Never Really Over is the opening track to the album, it makes for a bold statement tbh.2 points

Cool it in here. This isn’t the thread for arguing, ESPECIALLY about something as sensitive as depression and suicide. Get a grip people or warnings will be handed out. Post your concerns and grievances in a respectful manner and be on your way.2 points

The overreaction. First, just because you're not the first person to say it doesn't make it any more right lmao. Second, no, you can't just assume whatever the fuck you wants. Maybe she is a public figure, but that doesn't give you (or anyone else, for that matter) any right to assume that "her latest instagram posts point to suicide". Like what?? What experience do you have in that?? Is there like a crash course about deciphering instagram posts that foreshadow suicide? Yeah, no. If you can't see how toxic and invasive is to say crap like that, especially when we are talking2 points

Confessions was Madonna's last truly good album. Who knew in 2005 that Madonna's creativity would soon diminish to basically dated trendchasing?2 points
