These were all really interesting! Actually discovered some new songs as well. I would NEVER and have never thought of Thriller as disco, but omg it is3 points

The way these four Karens introduced an entire generation to BDSM.3 points

Kinda ironic that fans nickname her "the music industry" (a stupid title btw) but she doesn't have much influence culturally. Only depressed 15 year old girls are influenced by her. If anyone is deserving the title of music industry in this era it's Beyonce. You literally cannot escape her influence nowadays.3 points

But that shouldn’t be a problem for the “queen of music” to do right? So what’s the issue? OK I’ll give her that but post reputation, her singles haven’t been doing well. I agree that in regards to music but she’s never really had a issue with music. Even with her debut, her songs were on the charts for long periods of time. I’ve become a bit interested in her career recently and it seems like she genuinely isn’t interested in singles anymore, at least not recently. I think when it come to her next non re-recording era, only time will tell when it comes3 points

Well, Thriller is disco but by the 1980s disco had to rebrand as "dance music" for the artists to escape the stigma around it. Then it evolved into house music.2 points

Fuel your energy into buying Shawn's new music and making sure he can put dinner on the table rather than some random soundtrack single by Gaga2 points

No, because she doesn't push herself. Apart from the health issues she had/has, for example, Chromatica could've been a "success" like Future Nostalgia and After Hours was; COVID was actually her advantage with said health issues she has, she could have done so much stuff from home and she lowkey blew it. Yes, she had a huge promo campaign for it, and so did Dua and Weeknd with their albums as well.. and let not forget the surprise drop by Taylor Music Industry Swift. And yet, the three of them have had their most successful albums and eras so far (and even many small artists did as well ). W2 points

No. *insert funny gif of her album sales declining dramatically arrow graph*. She and many others can't seem to outdo their debut/earlier works. She knows this as well, hence, the ventures into makeup and acting, music doesn't pay the bills anymore. A lot of the faves have other investments other than in music. Taylord being the exception, taylord is the queen of music, her music keeps improving.2 points

Wait a second. The son of Ferdinand and Imelda Marcos is about to become President? And the daughter of the current President is about to become VP? I’m shook. Imelda Marcos spent $7 million on 3,000 pairs of shoes, and all of that money was tax payer money. They had to run his momma and daddy off the Presidential palace grounds, and they’re just going to let them back in? smfh2 points

she wouldnt because elon wants "full freedom of speech" and that includes people like trump or azuzu banks who say harmful shit without repercussions.2 points

Proof that disco is an excellent genre and you can't go wrong with whatever you pick1 point

I think it’s a mix, they have a pretty good song this year (by Eurovision standards). But of course a lot of people will vote out of solidarity1 point

...is something that I am super excited to listen to actually. First, Ava confirmed that she will indeed be releasing it this year. Second, she confirmed that it will be very personal. Third, she stated that this album will feature Faouzia and Charli XCX. I don't think you guys heard me correctly. Faouzia and Charli XCX. I literally kept telling myself "no no no, this can't be" when I saw this news. FAOUZIA AND CHARLI XCX?! First off, how tf did she get CHARLI to feature on this record? But that make me even more excited for this album. Definitely putting it on my list for highly anticipated a1 point

It just occurred to me that the Lover Fest never happened, and there's no folklore/evermore world tours either, I'm eager to see her in concert again, the last time I went to ha concert was in Nov 2018... that's almost 4 years ago...1 point

It depends on the type of success Critical Acclaim? Awards? She's still successful in that sense post-Artpop. Hell, she's received an Oscar and 2 Golden Globes since then. Sales? No. Streaming taking over + the music she's made, which has no doubt challenged her fan base (Joanne as an example) + COVID during the Chromatica era + the so-called "abandoning" of the Chromatica era to further her acting career She will never have an era as big as her first 3 projects, and that's perfectly fine. The Fame was and still is one of the best debut pop albums of al1 point

No I don't think so. Has anyone since that moment have been able to be as successful as her glory days though? Pop culture genuinely had a shift somewhere in the mid 10s that lead to artists not having the the usual "successful" label like we used to give to the pop queens. For example, Ariana's "thank u, next" era was so successful but could never be on par with The Fame or Teenage Dream. GP and stans shifted the pop & stan culture so much where everything is different. So no, Gaga could factually never reach that level again even though I feel like currently she is successful with GP, sh1 point

They're more of hit than the overwhelming majority of the FOTP faves are capable of securing, and hell more of a hit than even some of the supposed MPGs are able to secure. But I will agree with you, singles are not her strongsuit. With the exception of 1989, they never have been. That said, no one other than Adele is touching her in terms of album sales, and I consider that more impressive than collecting some hit singles. It's one thing if you can get a single song to do well, it's another to get an album selling as much as she pushes in the modern era. She is the music industry in that1 point

If Cher can do it then anyone can do it honestly but time will tell. Is she though? She hasn't had a decent hit since LWYMMD.1 point
