  2. I'd singlehandedly blame that Chainsmokers song.

  3. It's crazy how the world works sometimes I mean, they can take an unwanted picture of her, but she can't share it? That's so weird to me. I'm so glad I'm not a celebirty.

  4. It looks like that Halsey was finally taken in consideration last year with "I Am Not a Woman, I'm a God". That is one of the most impressive works released by a Pop artist in the last two years

  5. Honestly same, I expected a spam of Fire it's the "easiest" theme since you could just put a bunch of pop bangers and make it work. But I guess that's also why people avoided it, and I appreciate that people are challenging themselves

  6. *If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power i'd say Closer ruined everything, it was too mainstream for what she was releasing solo

  7. Speaking for myself, I didn’t take her seriously at all due to mainly that early stuff and some things she said, it struck me as cringe and nothing I’d be interested in. Hopeless Fountain Kingdom changed a lot of that for me, I love that album, every song on it — since then, I take her a lot more seriously, but most of what she’s released since hasn’t been my cup of tea.

  8. Another reminder that women will have to struggle in the scene to be taken srsl, while men can do the bare minimum and no one would care until the wrinkles and the white hair start appearing

  10. It seems #MC30 has finally restarted with Runway coming to streaming at midnight local time (June 24th). Runway is a deluxe track from the Caution album that was features on the Japan edition only, as such it was never on streaming. The song is a fan favourite and notable for sampling both We Belong Together and Butterfly.

  11. Halsey's career is approaching a decade mark, and yet they seem to not exist. They released their debut single, "Ghost", in 2014 and their breakthrough single, "New Americana", a year later. Since then, they've released four albums and scored 10 Top 20 hits, two of which were number one hits (notably, "Closer", which was one of the biggest chart hits of the last decade). And it isn't that they've been lowkey. They're notable for often putting a lot of effort into their visuals, crafting concepts and incorporating worldbuilding that aren't usually present in traditional music videos.

  18. Very 50/50 about this....I mean, Lady Gaga without her drag on literally looks like another person, but at the same time...it's Lady Gaga, one of the biggest pop stars, under what rock have you been rotting?

  19. Yup, plus remixes, live tracks, various officially released covers like Only Girl in the World, Soho Square, High For This (plus the Soundcloud covers like All I Need and Take Me To Church) and random things like her vocal contribution songs like Fourtet’s Baby, stuff on the Divergent soundtrack or even the original album version of Lights. It’s almost like they don’t know her catalogue or did the most casually available search because they needed to do a web app that’d work globally. Some obvious missing stuff: A Day At A Time Animal Bad Love Believe Me Bitte

  20. Well, it's a good point. I was gonna say about how there's been pretty much nothing since Red TV and that she's seemingly trying to release every 1989 TV song through movies, but hey, at least she's releasing. Perhaps we are spoiled

  30. Third? Maybe i'm out of the loop but while Up was big it certainly wasn't "the" summer smash of 2021.

  31. I noticed that Bey's new song sounds like Gypsy Woman from the 90s. I mashed them up together, it's not my best one unfortunately but I hope you like it

  35. Why would the ultimate playlist only have 20 songs maximum? The deluxe version of Delirium alone has more than that. This list doesn’t feature officially released songs like The End, Two Years Ago or The Ending, so it’d be made in bad faith anyway. Lazy and badly implemented campaign idea from a team that likely doesn’t know its own artist’s material.
