Kamala ran a STELLAR campaign and destroyed Trump on all fronts, so much that he didn't want to do another debate. None of that mattered. Trump won with absolutely no plan, no policy, no strategy, no planning. His rallies were half empty, nobody was there to actually listen to his ideas. Like he won literally PURELY on hate and fearmongering. And it's not like he ran against a weak candidate. This is not a Hillary situation where the candidate was unpopular on both sides and we were only voting to stop Trump from winning. Kamala is highly popular and is among the most qualified candidates4 points

I'm so nauseous right now. This election shouldn't have been close. What the fuck is wrong with the US? Like actually. An incompetent racist, rapist felon who doesn't even know how fucking tariff works. Really? January 6 didn't wake them up? He shouldn't even be allowed to run for president again. There is, but the path is narrow. It's all gonna come down to Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania. She needs to win all 3 of them, if she loses any it's basically over. The problem is Trump is currently leading in all of them. We can also hope for a surprise flip or two, Biden was also los4 points

This was arguably far worse than 2016.. you could chalk up 2016 to people being tired of the political establishment and saw Trump as a fresh breath of air or whatever, most people were none the wiser (even though you would've known if you paid attention - but as we know, people don't), but voting for him in 2024 is insane work. He's literally shown us who he is. He's vowed to "be dictator on day one" and has called to put political opponents in front of a firing squad, on top of an endless amount of other things. 72+ million people saw and heard all this and said yes. And I know I h3 points

I'm TERRIFIED of what this means for the world. Ukraine, Palestine, Taiwan.. we're setting off on a very dangerous path. And Americans themselves aren't safe either. Republicans now also have a good chance of taking the House. There is going to be nothing stopping Project 2025 from taking over. The Supreme Court is going to be so skewed that we're not going to recover for decades, and possibly not even in our lifetime.3 points

Taylor Swift‘s Eras Tour book is only available from one retailer, Target, but that isn’t keeping it from having a more-than-blockbuster bow. “Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour Book” sold 814,000 copies in just its first two days on sale, according to Circana BookScan, widely regarded as the most reliable tracker of weekly physical book sales. That is the second-highest amount of books sold in a single reporting week since BookScan began tracking sales in 2001. The only nonfiction book to have surpassed that debut figure during a tracking frame, according to the Associated Press, is Barack Oba2 points

Tony Todd, an actor who played the killer in Candyman and its 2021 sequel and appeared in the Final Destination franchise and Platoon among more than 240 film and TV credits spanning 40 years, died November 6 at his home in Los Angeles. He was 69. His reps confirmed the news to Deadline but did not provide a cause of death. Born on December 4, 1954, in Washington, D.C., Todd pursued acting at the Eugene O’Neill National Actors Theatre Institute and Trinity Rep Conservatory, where he honed his skills and developed his commanding style. Yeah, someone will definitely run on Trump's platform but they're not going to pull it as well as Trump himself did. I don't even think Don Jr could pull it off well. I'm sure whoever does run will definitely get a boost from Trump effect still, but it'll be much weaker and will only last for one election cycle. As for new Democratic candidates for 2028, the party is not in a good place with it.. Josh Shapiro - The generic cookie cutter safe candidate coming from Pennsylvania, but he has sexual assault allegations that he's burrying that not a lot of people seem to know about ye2 points

It is the core of the issue, yeah. Facts don't matter to his supporters, and he's conditioned and desensitized them to the point where he could literally shoot someone in the middle of a street and none of them would care or even bat an eye. He could just say Democrats made him do it and they'd believe him. The bigger problem at large is that Americans are highly uneducated. 54% of all American adults read at, or below, a sixth grade reading level. About a fifth of American adults are functionally illiterate. Populism tend to thrive in a countries with large amounts of uneducated populati2 points

I don’t disagree, but I also find it hard to imagine what the ideal candidate to run against Trump looks like anymore. How do you devise a reliable strategy against someone whose supporters literally do not care in the slightest about what he says, when that includes saying they’re totally worthless to him? 2020 was kind of a perfect storm, and frankly if COVID hadn’t been a thing Trump likely would’ve won then too. Paired with that year’s issues, Biden was both centrist and recognizable enough to have a shot, but I don’t know if I think he would’ve done much better if he had staye2 points

And I’m sorry to everyone who voted Kamala. You did what you could and you did the right thing. Sorry you have to live the next 4 years under president Trump.2 points

This is so crazy. Like.. imagine the majority of voters ACTUALLY voting for a racist, misogynistic, disgusting, incompetent criminal. That’s a scary thought, and I’m so glad it isn’t my country. But truth be told, to an extent this affects the whole world, not just America. Crazy, backwards country. Of course not everyone, but well.. The voting doesn’t lie. Sadly I think a democrat could’ve won if it was a white man, but the country wasn’t ready for a FEMALE president of COLOR. That’s the truth.2 points

I am so fucking disappointed, and I don’t even live in the US. Seriously, what the HELL happened???? Do people not care about abortion rights or reproductive rights????? Do people not care about affordable health care????? Do people not care about the environment?????? Fuck right off. I’m done.2 points

This is something that is also not spoken of enough. Just yesterday I was seeing polls in Canada that showed more would prefer Pierre Poulievre as Canadian Prime Minister next year because he’s a “better match” for Trump. Which he is.2 points

Trump is already giving his victory speech. Because of course he is. Current electoral vote tally based on calls (270 to win): Donald Trump: 267 Kamala Harris: 214 I really don't know how the US, and the world, is going to come back from this. Like where do we go from here? The last Trump presidency started a wave of politicians with Trumpian values taking office all over the world. We're supposed to have that.. again? We barely made it out last time. This is a nightmare.2 points

MSNBC is calling the whole shebang for Trump. Again, “disappointed” does not come close to doing my feelings justice.2 points

I’ve sincerely had a near-death experience that I was less hopeful was going to be a bad dream than this. There are no words to convey what a disappointment this is. I’ve read multiple articles in the past couple of weeks about literal teenage girls who miscarried and proceeded to die after being turned away by the medical system thanks to a man they were never even had the chance to vote against (and crushingly, never will).2 points

God I really hope that PA call is wrong. 1.7 million mail-in ballots requested in Pennsylvania this year.. which I'm pretty sure is more than ever. They can't be processed until election day, so they're going to be opened and counted in real-time. There's the hope that these could swing PA back but there's no pandemic and we don't know how many of these ballots are Democratic exactly, although we do know that Republicans are far less likely to trust mail-in ballots and would rather show up at the polling station.2 points

ttps://x.com/DecisionDeskHQ/status/1854046367154684392 All we can hope is that this is a bad early call and there is an eleventh hour miracle for Kamala. But unlike 2020, there is no pandemic anymore, and there's no large amounts of Democratic mail-in ballots to save the day. It just looks terrible right now.2 points

How is one meant to run against a candidate whose supporters literally don’t care what he says or does? I honestly have no idea what an ideal candidate against Trump looks like anymore….2 points

Pennsylvania called for Trump. There is no longer a path for Kamala to win, bar some miraculous eleventh hour flips. It's over.2 points

I’m Canadian, but my heart breaks for the people of America tonight I’m going to bed praying for you that change will come. Sad that so many people would rather have a misogynistic lying racist dangerous and abusive man in power than a female. Stay strong my American friends2 points

I don’t see this yet, where is it saying PA has been called for him? If it is, then yea the game is pretty much over barring deeply improbable results.1 point

Pennsylvania is the big one to watch right now. So far, I think most if not all of the called states have yielded the same results that they did in 2020.1 point
