I really don’t understand the hate he comtinues to get while other "canceled" artists are never truly canceled. It’s so weird, because he gets so much hate, but he’s still quite successful somehow. But for how long is it actually accetable to tear someone down when they’ve taken accountabilty unlike other problematic celebrities..

Never seen him take accountability in a credible or honest way. Just PR written glossy apologies.

    What happened tho?

The presale was a fucking mess. There were 14m people on the ticketmaster site trying to get tickets when there were apparently only supposed to be 1.5m presale codes sent out. I had a presale code and couldn't get into the page for the Sat LA show. There was no waiting room before 10am and everything just crashed about 5 mins before 10am. Then 20 mins went by with 404 pages and refresh pages and then it came back and said the presale was rescheduled for 3pm. At 3pm I didn't have any issues but did have to wait 30 mins in the waiting room till 3 and then 75 more mins in the queue till it was my turn. dead4

They also canceled the regular sale today cause they already sold too many tickets. legend1

    Frontloaded success? ny1

Following the expectation-shattering blockbuster debut of her new album, “Midnights,” Taylor Swift has coasted to a second week atop the charts, earning the equivalent of another 342,000 album sales, according to the tracking service Luminate.

Although “Midnights” experienced a 78 percent drop in its second week of release — down from 1,578,000 in sales the week prior — Swift’s follow-up performance was still good enough for the third-largest total of the year so far, topping even the debut of Beyoncé’s “Renaissance.” (Other than “Midnights” last week, only Harry Styles’s “Harry’s House” sold more.)

Swift managed to move more than one million copies of “Midnights” in its first week largely on the strength of physical merchandise, including vinyl, CDs and even cassettes. But the album lingers at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 this week thanks to its consistency on streaming services, where it totaled 294 million plays (down from 549 million).

Combining digital plays, downloads and purchases of the complete album, the second-week sales of “Midnight” were the largest for any album in its second week since Adele’s “25” in 2015, Billboard said.

Swift also maintains a healthy standing on the singles chart, the Hot 100, where she had previously occupied all of the Top 10 — a first in the chart’s history. This week, the single “Anti-Hero” holds at No. 1, with Swift songs also landing at No. 6, 7 and 9.

Rihanna’s new single, “Lift Me Up,” a ballad from the “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” soundtrack, debuts at No. 2.

Doing very well into her second week. CRY ABOUT IT ny1

And only a 13% drop in its third week to 299k. giveup4

  4. Quote

Midnights has the largest second-week total for any album since Adele’s 25 tallied 1.162 million units in is second frame (Dec. 19, 2015, chart). Plus, Midnights’ second-week sum is the third-largest overall week of the year for any album. In 2022, the three largest weeks are Midnights’ debut (1.578 million), the debut of Harry Styles’ Harry’s House (521,000) and Midnights’ second week (342,000). One more note about the size of Midnights’ second-week – it’s so big, it’s larger than the total units earned by the Nos. 2-7 albums on the latest chart combined.

  5. It’s an extremely well crafted pop album and I am enjoying it as a whole, perhaps more than any other Taylor album, but I do now find myself wishing she weren’t so restrained about certain sounds and concepts on tracks that I feel could be better… and weirder. Maroon has tinges of greatness in its hazy Bo Burnham blare and Twin Peaks-y haunt but it feels lite™️

I can confidently give the album an 8/10 now after many listens, but no single song is above an 8.5

Sweet Nothings and Glitch are top tier Tay tho.
