Moving on with her third studio album, Tinashe first announced the album when she unveiled her new single 'Roll The Dice' as the lead single of 'Haywire'. The song went to reach #2 during Haywire release week becoming Tinashe first top 2 hit.

Despite Tinashe's hiatus last year, her comeback has been very anticipated as many fans wondered for so long the reason of the singer's disappearance. Needless to say that the hype around Tinashe began to grow back when she released 'Roll The Dice' and promoted it all over the world with countless appearances and performances. Tinashe hasn't stopped proving herself and 'Haywire' is a testament to that although the singer is aware that she still has a lot to accomplish to be even greater, nonetheless to say that her stamina and work ethic is unmatchable.

It's safe to say that Tinashe is becoming more and more etablished in the music industry seeing how she scored her first top 2 hit on the charts with 'Roll The Dice' and her first #1 single 'Lie To Me'. And if you didn't know, Tinashe has most recently announced her partnership with Beats to social media last week and you've probably noticed some of her latest posts being connected to the brand. Tinashe has most recently appeared in the brand new Beats commercial. In fact, the singer announced her partnership with the brand last week and it seems like the campaign between the two forces is just starting.

During the first half of the commercial, Tinashe is seen in a pink outfit while laying in a tennis court with music playing the background which is the first seconds of Roll The Dice's instrumental. As the music plays, we see a close-up of Tinashe's face as she wears one of Beats' headphones. After that, the singer is covered in pink balloons as they're being spread all over the tennis court.

With the same instrumental of 'Roll The Dice' playing, we then see Tinashe approaching the camera with a tennis racket and as she kicks the ball , we hear a voice saying "The music starts with Tinashe".

And that's when we get to the last part of the commercial in which Tinashe turns on the music with one of Beats' loud speakers and 'Roll The Dice' kicks off in its entirety. The pop star is seen bursting some killer move next to other dancers as they're seen dancing in what appears to be a locker room.

    On growing a loyal fanbase

I’ve just been really honest, and people got the opportunity to grow up with me. A lot of my fanbase is around my age, so they’re growing up with me and building this connection outside of just my music. I think now with a third project out, I feel even more etablished towards my audience. I think this album was truly a turning point in my career where I could really re-introduce myself with a stronger image, message and music.

On keeping up with the music industry

The music game is super crowded now compared to before when there were only so many artists that were really hot. But now, there are so many artists out there especially with streaming which made the industry a much more difficult place to make it because music is more accessible than ever and there's always new people coming up so it's kind of like a challenge to grow a loyal fanbase in order to remain consistent.

Tinashe then performed 'Roll The Dice' and 'Lie To Me' with Ariana Grande on the show.

You can buy Tinashe's third studio album 'Haywire' right now on iTunes and stream it on Encore.

    On recording with Mariah Carey

She's such an intimidating person to work with at first, but at the same time she's so lovely. She's huge and has seen it all in this industry so I think that's what really intimidated me when we started working together but with time, it just doesn't feel like that anymore because she's genuine and down-to-earth which made the process smooth. Most people would expect a diva behavior from her, but that's not what I got from her at all, pretty much the opposite I'd say.

On her top 3 tracks on 'Haywire'

That's a hard question because I've had so many different favourites tracks while creating this album, sometimes it's this song that I prefer and the day after I have another favorite. As of now If I had to make a top off the top of my head in no particular order,  I'd say 'Speed It Up' which has grown on me a lot then I'd pick 'Crown Me' which is probably the fan favorite of the album, and the last song would be 'Haywire' which has been doing extremely well on the charts for an album track.

Tinashe then performed 'Roll The Dice' and 'Lie To Me' with Ariana Grande on the show.

    On the success of 'Haywire'

It has been selling like crazy, which is insane! I'm so pleased with all the positive feedback, that's really the biggest reward a musician could get and it's not even about numbers but more about seeing the amount of people, even casual listeners, relating and enjoying the tracks. Last week, this girl came up to me asking for a picture and she began to tell me about how some of the lyrics on the album impacted her on a personal level because the album was for her a reflection of what she's actually going through and I was like 'damn, it's really that deep to people'.

On the pressure put on artists

I think the biggest pressure that I felt while growing in this industry is that artists get a lot of pressure from people to put out new music. The music industry has changed compared to the time where my idols were thriving, you know, back in the day artists could put out an album and take a break for the next 5 years until the next project. Whereas nowadays, artists have short attention spans and people move on much quicker. They're not going to wait for your project in 5 years when there's a wave of new releases everyday as we speak. Luckily, I'm very inspired and I've been able to keep up with that rythm.

On getting back into the studio

I've definitely had my time away from the studio after putting out 'Haywire' but I'm trying to get back into it, I don't know when that will happen but I do have some thoughts about what I want to do next. There's still this possibility of me embarking on a world tour so there's no way I'll have time to come up with another project but I've been thinking about it for sure. I have some ideas here and there and I think with my next album, I'll definitely be going full pop.

On the pressure that comes with success

The first time I stepped in the studio to make a song was because I had a song to make and it's what I wanted to do, not because I wanted to absolutely create something that will please the majority. I try to keep in mind that I’m an artist, and I make music because it’s what I love and because it's a form of self-expression for me. That’s how I get through stuff. That doesn't mean that sometimes I don't have moments where I’m like, "I really hope people enjoy it." Of course, I hope people enjoy something I worked so hard on but at the end of the day it’s really about if I’m happy with what I put out because I don't want to start making music for somebody else but me.

On picking Ariana to be featured on 'Lie To Me'

It was honestly super natural. That was the person I wanted, literally as soon as I finished the song I was like, "Okay, okay, perfect. I know who to send it to. I know whose voice sounds like it should just go right here." It was super natural because it just really clicked in my head that she would fit perfectly the vibe of the song, and I was right because she did indeed. Also, I think our voices blend together pretty well so it wasn't like an odd sound to mix both of our vocals on the same track, it worked naturally.

On the songwriting process of her music

It really depends on my mood, but a lot of the times I write when I'm on the road before a performance or at home. That's just a very inspiring place to listen to music and therefore to write songs as well, I feel sometimes more comfortable at home rather than in a huge studio surrounded by people. When it comes to song-writing, I usually come up with the hook or a melody and then the verses come after. Sometimes the verses come more easily than other times when I'll have a melody or a few lyrics in mind but I'm unable to write a full song.

August is a bit of 50/50 though, we'll fall for sure but if Selpink happens.. gaga1

Honestly, that’s what I thought. When I stopped helping you with the Sel section cause I’m a lazy bitch, I was really scared to check the weekly post count  but it wasn’t as terrible as I thought it’d be.

I guess the other sections flopping too makes Selena look better gaga1

    On giving advice to newcomers

My biggest advice to an artist when they're thinking about signing to a label is to just hold on and take it slow. I think it's really easy and intimidating to go on these big offices and feel pressured to sign so it's important to be smart about how you go about it, what type of contracts do you sign and always remember that you're the captain of your ship. I would definitely tell them to go for it because there's still a lot of benefits about being under a label because I know that I've worked with a lot of producers that I would have probably never worked with if it wasn't for my label, I also had budgets that I didn't have access to before. So yeah, just be sure about it before signing.

On her biggest lesson throughout her career

I think the biggest and most important thing that I've learned is to maintain creative control, a lot of companies want to have a lot of control for a lot of reasons which sometimes involves money and their interests. So I'd say, you gotta have that creative control and make sure that you at least have other people with you in your team that make sure they're supportive of that. It all starts with a positive environment.

Tinashe has more recently been interview by The Telegraph. Check out what the singer revealed below.

    On preparing a world tour

There's definitely a tour in the works. I'm very excited about it especially because it'd be my first time going on tour on my own. We've been discussing with my team about what the tour is going to look like, about the setlist and what we're going for. As of now, we're actually working on the posters for the tour and there's probably going to be several visions for it, so yeah there'll be different visuals for the tour.

    On reflecting on her career

It's been a long journey, I've been working in the industry since I was 4 years old doing movies, commercials, TV etc. But I've always wanted to pursue music, that has always been my biggest passion but I think I was just waiting for the right moment and age to really get signed and build my own platform.  'Rewind' was really the start of it all but honestly I feel like 'Haywire' is doing even more for my career and it's truly becoming a turning point for me. It's crazy to still be able to grow after so long.

On what 'Haywire' is about for her

I have a really incredible fanbase, I have to give them so much credit for me still being in the game because they've always been supporting me during this entire journey through the highs and the lows so shout-out to everybody who supported me. I think during a period of time, especially last year, I had seeds of doubt and I'd overthink a lot on what I wanted to do so I lost that sense of what it's really about. Therefore, this project 'Haywire' for me is about re-connecting with my fans and being honest and raw about the process and how I feel.

    On the importance of imagery

I've always loved to bring art and visuals to my music and my projects, that's a huge component to what I do and I think I'm a visual artist. It's important to create this other level and dynamic of story-telling with imagery, so I think it's always fun and exciting to give the fans some sort of experience through visuals, performances, dancing etc. That's also part of what I do besides the music itself.

On having only two features on 'Haywire'

I think that a lot of the songs stand on their own, there is already a lot going in them already so I think for me there wasn't the need of going feature heavy on this album. I think that when you get features on your album, it's important that they add something to the song and make it better as opposed to just adding for the sake of adding. However, the features that I did put on 'Haywire' really enhanced the music which is what I'm going for when looking for a collaboration.

    On feeling sexy on stage

Being on stage is a total different feeling, it's where I feel the most sexy. I definitely feel like something comes over me when I'm on stage, almost like I come alive but I wouldn't say that I feel like a totally  different person. I'd say that performing is like a superpower because I feel really larger than world when doing shows, I guess it's the energy and the fans that gives me those feels. It's the adrenaline and the cheers, all those things combined and it just boosts your energy to the point that you feel unstoppable.
