    Literally having a meltdown because my irl best friend surprised me with Carly tickets for the two of us in NYC out of the goodness of her heart and I can't make it because I'll be on vacation with my abusive ass family. I've still never seen her live after all these years and this would have been the perfect occasion. Someone please cheer me up because I'm fucking inconsolable right now. They get in the way of EVERYTHING good in my life.

      Just tell them you have plans in NYC and will have to take a family vacation raincheck. For me, my family always wants to see me at Christmas, but I see them every fuckin 2 weeks, as it is...they just have to get used to it - Christmas is my time.

      With all due respect, that stuff doesn’t work with them. They’re extremely controlling so there’s no way around this. Every time I try to say no to them or stand up for myself, they make my life hell. My friend is seeing if we can make another show that’s further away, but it looks unlikely. :(
