    All this discourse around the Will Smith thing is so weird, I'm sorry. I don't agree with what he did but it's so fucking astounding that he's getting more severe consequences than Roman Polanski and Woody Allen ever got from Hollywood for things a hell of a lot more serious than smacking a stand-up comedian.

      I think it's mostly because he did his thing during the actual event with millions watching, not so much because the act itself is unforgivable. It seems severe because of how recent it is and how much it's been shoved down everyone's throats since but I doubt any consequences outside of maybe not wrangling an invite to the Oscars for a while will be long lasting.
