The Weeknd faces backlash after saying homophobic slur on 'The Idol'
Wonder replied to Snow's topic in Battlegrounds
Where was the picking? For saying someone being a homophobe doesn't mean they're a closet case? Which is....the truth? Is it picking on someone to say the truth? -
The Weeknd faces backlash after saying homophobic slur on 'The Idol'

There's plenty of reasons to drag this show but him saying a scripted line is not really one of them. Media shouldn't be sanitized of words like this because unfortunately, people who use them in this way do exist and it'd be silly to pretend that they don't. If you've really got an issue with it, then take that one up with Mr. Levinson. -
Fifth Harmony's Ally Brooke performs for half-empty venue

For what it's worth, she was the lowest billed act at a festival that was sold out, people just weren't there yet. Which means they didn't want to see her, but at least it wasn't her gig -
Most of these are reaches and the ones that aren't are clearly supposed to be referencing exactly what they're comparing it to. Begging fags to learn what a homage is.

Latto and Nicki both have taken a ton of shit for working with Luke (granted, Nicki's working with him got overshadowed by the other bullshit she gets herself involved with). As for Doja, of every girl in question she's the only one who's spoken negatively about working with him. The reason Kim gets it to such a deeper degree is because of all the girls mentioned she is the only one who literally cannot stop speaking about how much she loves working with him. She loves being on his team, chooses to work with him, and then flaunts that decision, completely disregarding any and all critici

Shocker. This girl simply does not get it, will never care to get it, and will never care who she’s working with. I’m not even sure why we keep making Kim being an apologist news, it’s never a shock. She is an apologist and always will be. The sooner she disappears back into obscurity, the better.

A white man calling a POC self hating because they didn't like a pop album. I should be shocked but given the source I truly am not

Movie Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny
Wonder replied to Dennis Reynolds's topic in Entertainment News & Discussion
I'm not a KotKS hater. No it isn't on par with the first three but I'm also not gonna pretend it's silliness was out of left field because those first three movies are inherently very silly. -

Fine! I don't read too far into critical reception on a good day, especially from a festival as stingy as Cannes. I'm not gonna judge until I see it. -
Well I mean on the criteria listed, Taylor does win. The demand for her is higher, the impact on the artist's career and the economy of the places visited is higher, and at this moment at least the domestic gross is higher. Gross can of course change drastically once Beyonce starts her shows here, the setlist comes down to personal taste so there's no clear winner there (though that tragic opening section will hurt Bey here regardless and I think even most of the people who'd be inclined to pick the Renaissance Tour would agree), and even the performance aspect is subjective depending up

Saw Taylor twice this month and am seeing Bey in July so we shall see where I land. Just based on the videos of Bey, I think she has the better stage and costumes but I have some gripes with the setlist (we all know what they are) and the flow of the show is a little odd and Taylor's tour doesn't really have that issue. But it's a stellar show overall, both of these tours are. These are some of the best tours ever created happening before our very eyes.

The Top Answer Game - Round Five (Finale): Results Show
Wonder replied to Dennis Reynolds's topic in Past Seasons
If we're really getting technical here, no it doesn't. A printed version of a play is a script, sometimes referred to as a "book" but it is not the same thing as the sort of book like TKAMB is as a script alone is classified as an unfinished work. It is simply a diagram of sorts for a visual medium. -

One of the highest grossing, most influential (I'd argue probably one of the three most influential considering the entire genre shifted on it's access after the first film came out to the point that it also morphed an entire other genre which was comedy bc the Scream spoof movie changed how the comedy genre worked too), critically acclaimed horror franchises in history whose sixth installment just became the highest grossing in it's franchise...it seems like Scream has been happening babes -
I may be here this time

I think it’s a combo of this and what I mentioned above about Debut and Speak Now being her least known albums to the general public

They may just not have the full clips available. I’ve watched both nights on TikTok live now and she does the full songs except where noted. Sometimes when media outlets are given permission to cover shows they’re only allowed to show a certain amount set by the artist’s team. The opening night coverage of Madonna’s Rebel Heart Tour for example they were only allowed to film about a minute each of the first three songs. EDIT: Yeah I looked at the article and the ones they did post cut off (like the Anti-Hero one) but she does do the whole song in the show. They just grabbed fan videos it

She really couldn’t have gone chronologically. Opening on debut would’ve been awful. I think the eras are placed this way because it allows her to pace herself. She is able to split the high energy big pop sections between the more theatrical but less energy taxing slower sections so she can make it to the end successfully. As for Speak Now, I was also confused and shocked at first, but after talking with some it was kind of inevitable. She had to make room for Folkmore, Lover, and Midnights to have most of the setlist and those first three are the ones that were always most likely to be
