    Music Video

The video is really cool and idk I just like it and the song very much sticks to the Ariana Grande sound she created with tu,n. I’d probably give it a 6/10 overall

Hey! It’s me again. So, I was just thinking...why do people call Beyoncé overrated? Like I get that we call her a goddess and what not, but that’s often just jokes and plays into the idea that her beauty is godlike and she takes inspiration from various goddesses But genuinely, why do people can her overrated despite the fact her talent and artistry are impeccable?

This is an open discussion thread where I’m just curious as to why us Beyoncé stans and beyhive workers love her so much. What made you start loving her and why do you continue to do so? For me, I was late to the party. I started loving her in October 2016 when I was on holiday to Lanzorote and I used to listen to nightcore music (embarrassing I know). A mix of Halo came on and I non stop listened to it the whole holiday. When I got back I discovered Lemonade and learnt the words to formation because a friend of mine loved her too but was lowkey about it. And it kind of just took of since, with Halo being my favourite song since (don’t hate me I like it). As for why I still am a fan, I just love the work she’s still putting out- The Gift has been on repeat nonstop since its release. I feel she pushes the boundaries with her sound and reinvented and innovates herself constantly. This came to a climax when I saw her live for OTR2 which is now the best night of my life.

Absolutely. At the end of the day, artists depend on an audience to succeed. And while an amazing technique is incredibly helpful in maintaining a career, adding too much makes it so audiences can’t access a song (like sing along) and a lack of emotion creates disinterest. Your mind >>>

Yeah 100%, but do you think someone needs to have absolutely perfect technique in order to maintain a legacy and be a credible vocalist or do you reckon someone’s technique can be passable in order for them to have that longevity?
  16. What’s up? After recent discussions on my TL, I’ve had the idea to bring a conversation here. How important do you think vocal technique is to become a popular singer in the current social climate? Personally, I think that it isn’t necessarily a prerequisite into becoming famous, but it sure as hell helps. Do you think singers need perfect technique to become superstars? Sure, Mariah and Beyoncé have perfect technique, but equally, singers like Madonna don’t. Do you also think it’s necessary to preserve your voice to have a longstanding legacy?

You’ve completely misinterpreted what I’ve said. I said she can’t do F#5 in mixed/chest voice. Gaga can go up to B5 in head voice (which is...eh...).

Why are you trying to start an argument when you clearly know so little about Beyoncé? I literally said that lemonade is a culmination of many different genres and styles. She can do it all too. Everything else is just opinion.

Gaga can support an F#5? Prove it. And yes, it is beautiful but it’s also the weakest part of her voice due to its inconsistencies live. Compared to Mariah? Sure, Mariah’s strongest voice isn’t her head voice. But Whitney? Not a chance. Much like Beyoncé, Whitney’s head voice is operatic, and therefore incomparable to gaga’s which isn’t. And Jennifer got the Oscar because she had the lead role...watch their performance and Beyoncé overpowers her- something not easy given that Jennifer is a Dramaric Soprano. JESSIE J? I have to laugh. Beyoncé’s runs are so fast and precise that Jessie J cannot even be compared. A better comparison would be Mariah or Tori Kelly or Jojo

Don’t get me wrong, Gaga is one of the best vocalist, but compared to Beyoncé... there’s no comparison to make. At all.

I’ve asked you once to give it a rest, but now this is just ignorance. Beyoncé is a Mezzo-Soprano who support up to F#5 in mixed voice and Eb6 in head voice Gaga (also a Mezzo) supports up to Eb5 in mixed on a good day and her head voice is so underdeveloped it’s not even worth mentioning. Ariana, a Soprano, who’s voice is naturally higher and therefore should be able to support higher, can barely support C#5 which is abysmal and uses falsetto over head voice most of the time. From this alone, you can see that Beyoncé is the best, nevermind her incredibly quick runs and melisma and various difficult vocal techniques she does with ease.
