  5. Question for all of you who followed her past tours.

does she change the setlist a lot between usa and europe legs usually?

I bought tickets for Zurich mostly because she sings Mine, Runnin and All night (mostly but not only) and i am scared she would cut those for Europe.

what's your opinion for those of you who know about her tours habits?

  8. So I know I don't post much in that forum, I am mostly here to catch news and informations about some of our common faves, yet I wanted to create this post about the tour to promote this tour.

I never saw Madonna on stage before. Living in Switerland, at the exact opposite side of Zurich, it was always way too expensive to go sadly. This time I chose to fly to Amsterdam with my boyfriend (who did not like her at all before; love her now) to see the show. I know it's a week old but oh well. My opinion song by song and then overall:

Iconic: Hard to compare because I've seen only her tours on DVD, but to me, it's her best entrance ever. The video introduction is just perfect and the song works well as an opener. Couldn't believe she was just in front of me actually. Also, beautiful outfit!

Bitch I'm Madonna: nice rework for the intro. I actually think this song works better live than on the album. The bass were huge.

Burning Up: the down of this show. Not really into this song, definitely not into that performance. Could have been replaced with Nothing Really Matters which would have worked way better for this section!

Holy Water: one of my least favorite on the record, but one of the best performance. Fun, subversive, real Madonna.

Devil Pray : Nothing special... I sadly was not very well placed to see it so I caught it on screen.

    Messiah - Interlude: Meh...

Body Shop: LOVED IT. I love the song, I love the performance, I love the stage setup.

True Blue: LOVED IT too. Considering I wasn't even born the year it was a success, never ever I thought I'd see it live. The ukulele version is awesome and she was so much fun with her speech before.

Deeper and Deeper: never in my dreams I thought I could see that performance. She might be the queen of re-invetion, but oh well, the album version slays 10000 times any rework!

Heartbreak City: cute, impressive, close to where I was standing, but forgetable.

Like A Virgin: as a first timer in a Madonna show, this was the best rework of the song I could have hoped for. Sooooooo much fun. Loved it

S.E.X interlude : it was okay. Not my favourite song, not my favourite act.

Living For Love : sad she did not include any of the original song, but the performance was good and the remix works well for an arena

La Isla Bonita: Well, I loved it. I love the guitar versions of it better than the album version so it was just perfect.

Dress You Up Medley : I don't like that song so it was fun to watch but not highly interesting.

Secret : YES! We had Secret for this first show in Amsterdam and oh god thank you!

Don't Tell Me: My 3rd or 4th favourite song of her ( not very sure) so needless to say how happy I was to sing it! Also she was so close to where I was standing during this performance it just felt special.

Rebel Heart : sooooo.... It was good but forgetable. I loved singing on it though!

Illuminati Interlude: This made my life! Seriously, what sorcery was this!? Just perfect, nothing else to say

Music: One of my favourite song and what a pleasure to hear the album version! OMG, what a pleasant experience. It was dancy and fun and awesome!

Candy Shop: Could have been replaced by Veni Vidi Vici honestly. Nothing else to say

Material Girl : I hate this song, oh my gooood I hate this song, but you know what!? I loved this version of the song!

La Vie En Rose: As I am French speaking, it was a delight but I'd have hoped for one of her song instead of a cover

Unapologetic Bitch: Loved it, awesome, fun, great music, great act!

Holiday: First time in a Madonna show wouldn't be complete without this one and this version made my life. I was actually so happy to hear a version so close to the original. Strong ending song ( even though she played it sooo much) and people were the happiest at that point, singing and dancing around. Nothing to say except that as an encore it was great!

Overall, I get the criticism about the setlist and I would have changed many songs. I would have loved some Ray Of Light's songs and Like a Prayer as it is my favourite BUT the show is awesome and Madonna is so nice and cute and close to the audience that the overall experience clearly destroys the flaws of the setlist! I can only recommend to anyone who hasn't seen thst tour live to go. The videos don't pay respect to the work she put on that show and I will never forget that amazing experience that was the first time I saw Madonna on stage.

  9. 1. Sticky and Sweet Tour  - For the production it was. So impressive!

    2. Drowned World Tour - For the atmosphere.

    3. Rebel Heart Tour - because it is the first time I saw Madonna on tour, so it is a particular experience

    4. Blond Ambition Tour - Iconic!

    5. The Confessions Tour - Interesting ideas but I was not convinced by most of the setlist

    6. MDNA Tour - it was awesome at first but after 3 years I just forgot about it

    7. Re-Invention Tour: Greatest hits tour, fun but not special.

    8. Girlie Show

    9. Who's That Girl Tour

    10. The Virgin Tour

  10. Are they set to be performed as an acoustic version in the Gypsy section or is she considering to actually add them into the show in other sections? I think a guitar version ( once again) of Ray of Light instead of Burning up would fit the theme better

  11. Samurai:

    1.Iconic

    2.Bitch I'm Madonna

    3.Nothing Really Matters/Hold Tight

    Religion/Sex:

    4.S.E.X ( Interlude)

    Spanish/ Frida:

    13. Living For Love ( Offer Nissim Intro)

    14. Living For Love ( Album Version)

    15. La Isla Bonita/ Who's That Girl

    16. Deeper and Deeper ( 90s mix with Bye Bye Baby/Erotica/Bedtime Stories/Take A Bow)

    17. Ghosttown ( Tango)

    18. Illuminati ( Interlude)

    19. Music

    20. American Life (Cabaret Version)

    21. Get Together

    22. Unapologetic Bitch

    Encore:

Holiday (80s mix with Everybody/Lucky Star/ Into the Groove/ Dress You Up)

  12. I wonder something though. With the rehearsals she posted on instagram and stuffs, it seems like she rehearsed way more songs and scenic features ( like the big drums) than we have in the setlist she presented so far.

Knowing that she had so much success in the 80s in North America and a little bit less in the 2000s, but still a lot in Europe nowadays, do you think she could change significally the setlist for the european leg of the tour? I am mostly thinking at giving up some 80s like Burning Up to replace with late 90s/early 2000s

  13. Since the theme is supposed to be Romance, the setlist would made of sections representing steps of relationships :
