  1. LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – Pop superstar Madonna on Tuesday explained her decision to perform at the Eurovision Song Contest in Israel this week, saying that she will always speak up to defend human rights and hopes to see “a new path toward peace.” Madonna will make a guest appearance on Saturday during the Eurovision finals in Tel Aviv. The venue has prompted calls for a boycott by pro-Palestinian activists who want companies, performers and governments to disengage from Israel. The popular Eurovision competition features musicians from more than 40 nations and was watched last year by some 189 million viewers in around 50 European countries. In her first comment on her decision to sing at the event, Madonna said she was a supporter of all human rights. “I’ll never stop playing music to suit someone’s political agenda nor will I stop speaking out against violations of human rights wherever in the world they may be,” the singer said in a statement to Reuters. “My heart breaks every time I hear about the innocent lives that are lost in this region and the violence that is so often perpetuated to suit the political goals of people who benefit from this ancient conflict. I hope and pray that we will soon break free from this terrible cycle of destruction and create a new path towards peace,” she added. Israel is hosting the Eurovision contest after local singer Netta Barzilai won last year. The winning country customarily hosts the following year. Madonna, 60, is expected to perform two songs in Tel Aviv, one from her upcoming “Madame X” album to be released in June. She had taken her world tours to Israel in 2009 and 2012, and is a follower of the mystical form of Judaism called Kabbalah. The singer’s Ray of Light foundation, which promotes social justice and women’s empowerment worldwide, supports a number of Palestinian projects. They include funding teachers’ salaries at schools in the Gaza Strip through the United Nations Palestinian Refugee Agency UNRWA and micro loans to female farmers through the Palestine Fair Trade Association. The foundation also supports Americans for Peace Now, which campaigns for a diplomatic solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Israel has launched a PR campaign to counter calls for a boycott of the Eurovision contest by the international Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement. Security has been tight in Tel Aviv amid fears that activists may seek to disrupt the competition. https://madonnaunderground.com/madonna-confirms-eurovision-says-she-wont-bow-to-suit-someones-political-agenda/
  2. No her songs have not changed placement due to some new rule However the ARIA (The company that records chart data in Australia) actually keeps extensive records despite only releasing a Top 50 to the public You can actually get in touch with them and they will tell you peaks for songs that charted outside of the Top 50 Apparently they keep record of the Top 100,000 positions Which means anything that did not chart at all either did not scrape the 100,000 mark or was not released there or was not recorded as a single Recently someone inquired and here are some interesting peaks for several singles Flower - 136 I Was Gonna Cancel - 312 Crystallize - 115 100 Degrees - 386 (No one was here for Kylie featuring Dannii ) Stop Me From Falling - 164 Golden (Single) - 513 I Guess I Like It Like That - 174 (This confused me because it was a promo single in 1991 thus no digital release - However it apparently had a limited commercial release on vinyl in Aus) Whistle - 391 This Wheel's On Fire - 718 Raining Glitter - 331 Santa Baby - 85 Black and White - 100 (I believe the EP was recorded as a single in Australia thus this is the peak for the whole EP with Black and White documented as the lead track) Not bad for 100,000 positions

  8. This song is getting praised by everyone, even male musicians. Literally the best pop song ever.
  9. It is a truth universally acknowledged that no one bodies a Met Gala look quite like Robyn Rihanna Fenty, the baddest to ever walk the stairs of the storied museum. Which is why many were puzzled about Ri’s absence from the camp-themed 2019 Metropolitan Museum of Art’s annual Costume Institute Benefit, where her presence was sorely missed on Monday night. [...] And although Rihanna may not have been physically present at this year’s gala, it’s worth remembering that all her past Met Gala appearances keep her firmly rooted as the undefeated champion, and for all intensive purposes, the GOAT, of Met Gala looks — a fairly tall order considering that the Met Gala is considered fashion’s biggest night. With her reign as the GOAT of the Met Gala still unchallenged despite some spectacular displays at this year’s event, here’s a look at Rihanna’s best Met Gala fashion moments. http://time.com/5578361/why-wasnt-rihanna-at-met-gala-2019/
  10. The final predictions have it at 680 points (though it will easily do 700+ since he’s lowballing the physicals a lot) which makes ME! the biggest Hot 100 debut of the year points-wise, and of the last 7-8 months. What this means is that ME! would’ve debuted at #1 in any week since last summer but is getting blocked because OTR is one of the biggest hits points-wise ever (the previous biggest debut was 7 rings with 608 points per Simon’s final estimation) People can drag her all they want for getting blocked but she still has the strongest debut of the year despite her alleged “fading power”
  11. Happy birthday, even though you're annoying live, you still go off!
  12. The anthemic track is the first of 4 songs to be unvealed ahead of her upcoming album Madame X. “I wrote ‘I Rise’ as a way of giving a voice to all marginalized people who feel they don’t have the opportunity to speak their mind,” Madonna says in a statement. “This year is the 50th anniversary of Pride and I hope this song encourages all individuals to be who they are, to speak their minds and to love themselves.” Thematically “I Rise” is about coming together to fight adversity, the importance of strength, and surviving during the hardest times. Madonna wrote “I Rise” together with Brittany Talia Hazzard and Jason Evigan. The song is produced by Madonna and Jason Evigan. Tomorrow GLAAD will honour Madonna with the prestigious Advocate for Change Award in New York City. This powerful track, which closes her Madame X album, samples Emma González‘s pro-gun control speech. She is one of the survivors of the Stoneman Douglas High School mass shooting that took place in 2018. https://www.drownedmadonna.com/2019/05/03/madonna-i-wrote-i-rise-as-a-way-of-giving-a-voice-to-all-marginalized-people/
  13. Contrary to what most people might think, Amazon is quite the up and coming music service. They also just launched an ad-supported free tier a few weeks ago, but are mostly paid users. This is great that she broke this record because Amazon has a sizable impact in the charts nowadays. A good example being that it made CLC by Katy chart on the Hot 100 with over 16M streams in a week. Not sure if she did over 16M since this is the debut week record and not overall but easily 10-15M I’d say, given it’s the third largest streaming service in the US now!
  14. Unfortunately the song debuted at #3 but only due to huge competition. She still narrowly bested LWYMMD’s opening week with the best of her career yet.
  15. Maluma never imagined he'd one day get the opportunity to work with Madonna, much less kiss the Queen of Pop! The Colombian crooner and the Material Girl recently teamed up for the song "Medellín" and its accompanying music video, which features the smoldering twosome seductively dancing the cha-cha, cozying up together and even sharing a handful of kisses. "It was nice. I enjoyed that kiss," Maluma, 25, tells ET over the phone about his intimate moment with the pop icon. "It was cool, and not everyone can tell the story of when they kissed Madonna. I had a great time. It was a lot of fun." However, there was another interaction between the two that had fans shocked. Midway through the video, while the two are lying in bed, Madonna takes Maluma's toes and licks them! "I enjoyed it too," the crooner replies with a laugh. "She asked me if I had a problem [with her licking my toes], and I didn't have a problem," he adds. "None, it's all yours. It was fine." EW.Com
  16. Focus or No Tears is next
  17. What this means is that she received 184/184 adds for top 40 (aka pop) radio stations this week. Every single pop station in America (there’s 184) is playing her song, and this is the second time she’s done it - the only artist ever to do so twice!
  18. Released on 30 April 1990 A gay anthem, 1st huge turning point in her career, one of her biggest classics
