Read The Guardian's Joanne review here! Highlights: "Joanne is Gaga with the look-at-me layer peeled away. For the first time, she’s made an album using not much more than the resources that predate her stardom: the big, clear voice and life-as-she-sees-it honesty." "As proved by her 2014 duets album with Tony Bennett, Cheek to Cheek, she can outsing almost anyone, and this album overflows with examples of Gaga at full pelt." "Gaga’s huge voice adds a self-protective veneer, as does the presence of the other musicians, but at least she’s done the groundwork for future album

Read Digital Spy's Joanne review here! Highlights: "Beneath the outlandish theatrics and meat dresses is an accomplished musician." "The vocals are raw, with very little studio trickery, the songwriting isn't bogged down by overthought concepts and the production is stripped back to let Gaga's keen ear for melody and chord progression thrive." "Mother Monster may be retired for now, but Lady Gaga's sheer musical brilliance still shines through." 4/5 Does not count on Metacritic, though. Scores this particular reviewer gave to other albums: 25, Adele (5/5

Mark Ronson remembers the first time Lady Gaga asked him to produce the album that came to be Joanne. "I don't know what it's going to sound like," she told him last year, "but do you want to work together?" RELATED Lady Gaga Talks Garth Brooks Fandom, New Album's Country Influence "I have a general and deep respect for all country musicians," says pop superstar It was probably inevitable that Gaga and Ronson would collaborate. Even though Ronson is about a decade older than Gaga, both grew up within blocks of each other on New York's Upper East Side, and

Lady Gaga will be releasing a documentary to accompany her upcoming album, Joanne, which drops this Friday. The film will reportedly follow the singer throughout the process of creating her new record. It's unclear when the documentary will be released, but it's possible it could premiere at the same time the album does. x

Like, that bitch has possessed us all. If she hasn't yet, she's coming for you. I can't take this flawless fucking album. Joanne has grabbed me by the pussy better than Trump ever could. Joanne has grabbed The Fame, The Fame Monster, Born This Way, ARTPOP, and Cheek to Cheek by the fucking pussy... and spit on their graves. Yet she graced me with LIFE. I am full on life. Fucking Joanne is everything we never thought Gaga could give us. But we were so thirsty. This is literally instantly her best album. This will be seen as her magnum opus. Thi

One afternoon this past July, in the West Village, in Electric Lady Studios, Jimi Hendrix’s old dream, I met Lady Gaga. She came up a flight of steps and was through the door almost before I could stand up, hugging me. She wore a black Mary Quant hat, and was dressed in a white T-shirt and crisp black jeans. The 30-year-old performer was in New York, in this temple of music, recording her new album, “Joanne.” She said we might as well begin by listening to some songs from it and led the way into an inner studio of large electronic boards and glass. She sat on a stool by one of the boards

The album rihlease is just over a week away so we're bound to get a leak soon. Some little detectives called their local Target stores who allegedly confirmed they have the physical albums (but obviously won't be out on shelves until next Friday). I actually haven't listened to the snippets. I'm so excited to hear the album in full

Today marks the 21st anniversary of No Doubt’s third and most successful album, Tragic Kingdom. It was released on this day back in 1995 and is still loved and admired as one of the best albums to come out of the 1990s. Tragic Kingdom went on to sell over 16 million copies worldwide, hitting the number one spot in several countries and staying on top of the Billboard charts for weeks. The album spawned some of the band’s biggest hits to date including “Don’t Speak”, “Just a Girl”, “Sunday Morning” and “Spiderwebs”. The album hit #1 in the US in December 1996, almost a full y

SHES FUCKING SCALPED ALL OF YOU. Goddammit GAGA. What kind of miracle. What kind of special spell did you use? All of us are fucked. We don't understand. We don't know if we deserve it. And we don't know how to feel. There is frustration among the fans. And passion and anger and tension and sadness and disinterest and true fucking happiness. And we could have never originally predicted this. We didn't know we wanted it. Sure it isn't for everyone. And to these fans I am very sorry. I know it sucks. But we support you and
