So much for selling like Adele This boy with an ego the size of the sun opened with 451,000 copies this week(March 25th).From all that hype i thought even 1 million was possible. But no. Sure, its the biggest debut of 2017 and since J.Cole's For You Eyes Only in December 2016 both pure sales wise and with SPS, but nothing near to what Adele sold in her first three weeks . Let him have several seats. Ed Sheeran-451,000 Metallica-81,000 Bruno-65,000 Future 1-52,000 Future 2-49,000 Migos-44,000 The Weeknd-42,000 Moana Soundtrack-39,000

The highly anticipated third album (pronounced ‘Divide’) shifted a staggering 672,000 this week, giving Ed the highest opening week album sales in Official Chart history for a male artist and the third fastest-seller ever. Only Adele’s 25 (800,000) and Oasis’ Be Here Now (696,000) shifted more copies across their first seven days of release. It’s been a phenomenal week for Ed and one that is rarely seen on the Official Chart. In its opening week, ÷ has sold more than the rest of the Official Albums Chart Top 500 combined this week, and, like for like, four times more than the fastest-sell

Ed Sheeran has been breaking records left and right since the release of his third album, Divide (styled ÷) on Friday (March 3). Two days after the CD release, Sheeran reached yet another incredible feat: 1 billion YouTube views, on just Divide songs alone. After releasing lyric videos for the two initial Divide singles, "Shape of You" and "Castle on the Hill," on Jan. 6 (and official videos for both shortly after), the British singer-songwriter had already garnered hundreds of millions of views before the album even dropped. Upon the release of Divide, Sheeran put out official audio vide

Look for Ed Sheeran to bow with a stratospheric SPS total; some predict it could go still higher thanks to huge streaming numbers. Stay tuned. Ed Sheeran 425-450k SPS, 300-325k album HDD

Basically somebody (I'll find user later(very sorry)) did this on Madonna. Rules aren't quite though: 1. If you use the same idea as someone tag them. 2. You can use any name you want. 3. You can do tracklistings!Just put down the name of the song before eg. Poker Face- Shes Gotta Love Nobody (do this for extra rep!!)

As widely expected, Ed Sheeran's hotly anticipated third full-length album ÷ (Asylum UK) debuted at #1 on iTunes upon its release. But will Sheeran beat the first-week expectations? Projections sit north of 400k. Could he do 500k in his first week? HDD

Charts UK Mid: Ed 430k SPS and 9 tracks in the top 10
Jony posted a topic in Music News & Discussion
On today’s Official Chart Update, which looks at how the charts are shaping up at the midway point of the week, Ed’s third studio record ÷ has shifted 432,000 in its first three days on sale across physical (63% of its sales make-up so far), digital (31%) and streaming equivalent sales (6%). Based on its current sales pattern, ÷ is expected to exceed sales of 500,000 this week, which would give him the biggest opening week for an album since Adele’s 25, which logged 800,307 sales in its first seven days. The biggest one week total of any album in 2016 was David Bowie’s Blackstar, which so
