At least 10 people were killed and 50 were injured when an explosion tore through a train carriage in the St.Petersburg metro system on Monday, Russian authorities said. Interfax news agency quoted an unnamed source as saying the blast, which occurred when the train was between two stations, was caused by a bomb filled with shrapnel. Estimated retail revenues from recorded music in the United States grew 11.4 percent to $7.7 billion in 2016, according to the Recording Industry Association of America. Streaming music revenue from companies like Spotify, Apple, Pandora, and YouTube accounted for 51.4 percent of that total and for the first time, contributed the majority of the year's revenue. The US has announced a ban on large electronic devices from cabin baggage on passenger flights from eight Muslim majority countries. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said extremists were seeking "innovative methods" to bring down jets. "Philadelphia police say more than 100 headstones have been damaged at a Jewish cemetery in the northeastern part of the city. Struggling HMV Canada goes into receivership TORONTO — An Ontario Superior Court of Justice approved an application to place HMV Canada Inc. into receivership on Friday. HUK 10 Ltd., which lent money to the struggling chain, filed the application to the court Thursday. It claimed HMV owes it nearly $39 million and has received no cash payments since Nov. 2014.
