Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette charged five officials with involuntary manslaughter Wednesday over their handling of the water crisis in Flint, Michigan. The officials presided over a failure to maintain the safety of the city’s water supply, resulting in widespread lead poisoning among Flint children and 12 deaths connected to an outbreak of Legionnaires’ disease. “People in Flint have died as a result of decisions made by the individuals we are charging today,” Schuette tweeted. The defendants, all high-ranking members of the city and state government,

LONDON — Political deadlock gripped Britain Friday as no party won enough seats to gain the overall majority needed to form a government — a situation known as a "hung parliament." Earlier, an exit poll predicting that Prime Minister Theresa May would lose her majority caused the value of the pound to dip by 2 percent against the dollar over the prospect that the country might not have a strong government as it starts negotiations to leave the European Union. The currency later recovered some ground. http://www.nbcnews.com/news/world/u-k-election-2017-exit-polls-show-potential-hung-p

Late last November, Spotify announced its new Singles program, where artists record two tracks and only release them on the Swedish streaming platform. The first track is typically a newer song the act is trying to promote, while the second is a cover of anything the artist wants to show their love for, and that’s where these short EPs (of sorts) can be really fun. The streaming giant is celebrating 100 releases with what could turn out to be the series’ most popular offering yet. Today, Ed Sheeran is releasing his own collection, which features a live recording of his current U.S. singl

A military transport plane with 120 people on board went missing Wednesday on a flight from southern Myanmar to Yangon, a military spokesman said. There were fears it may have crashed into the ocean, since its route would have taken it over the Andaman Sea. Gen. Myat Min Oo said the Chinese-made Y-8 turboprop aircraft was carrying 106 passengers — mostly families of military personnel — and 14 crew members when it went missing Wednesday afternoon. In an earlier statement, the number of passengers was said to be 90. It is not unusual for such flights to carry civilians to offset transporta

Earlier this year, she shared the new track “P.O.W.A.” and an alternate version of AIM’s “A.M.P.” M.I.A. curated this year’s Meltdown Festival, which features performances from Crystal Castles, Mykki Blanco, Princess Nokia, and more. A professor at Evergreen State College in Washington is being HARASSED (not asked) to resign due to his OPINIONS. All this controversy sparked from a tradition that takes part in this college called a Day of Absence- where black students can take the day off and not attend college as a way to remind people they are of value in society (hmm). In a way to break from tradition student acitivists DEMANDED (not asked or suggested) that WHITE students not go to school on that day. Professor Brett Weinstein voiced his opinion and dismay of such a demand. He eloquently and intelligently refuted

This news is about two weeks old but I didn't see anyone else post about it. Snyder has left the film in order to be with his family and Whedon's role here will be to write and direct a handful of additional scenes and oversee the post-production process in Snyder's place. Sad news, but I guess this shows Whedon's commitment to DC/his own Batgirl movie. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/zack-snyder-steps-down-justice-league-deal-family-tragedy-1006455

Kathy Griffin will not be back as co-host of CNN's annual New Year's Eve program, the network announced Wednesday. CNN's decision comes one day after photos were released of Griffin that showed the comedian holding up a bloody head resembling that of President Donald Trump. "CNN has terminated our agreement with Kathy Griffin to appear on our New Year's Eve program," the network said in a statement. Griffin has apologized for the photos, taken by provocative celebrity photographer Tyler Shields. She asked for them to be removed in a apologetic video statement she posted to Inst

"U.S. President Donald Trump’s decision to withdraw the United States from the Paris climate deal won’t stop the rest of the world from tackling climate change, German Chancellor Angela Merkel said today in Berlin. “The decision of the United States is extremely regrettable — and I am expressing myself very reservedly,” Merkel said. “This decision cannot and will not … stop us. To the contrary, Germany, Europe and the rest of the world will more determined than ever bundle their powers … to successfully tackle these challenges.”" http://www.politico.eu/article/angela-merkel-trump-can

Kabul, Afghanistan (CNN) - A huge suicide bomb ripped through a secure area of Kabul at the height of the Wednesday morning rush hour, killing at least 90 people and wounding 400, Afghan officials said. The blast, which came a few days into the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, was one of the deadliest to hit the capital in recent years. The bomb exploded in the diplomatic quarter near the German Embassy and the Afghan presidential palace. The streets were packed with commuters, women shopping and children going to school, and the blast appears likely to result in a high civilia

The Netflix sci-fi series Sense8 is ending after two seasons, the streaming service confirms today in a statement first released to TV Show Patrol. “After 23 episodes, 16 cities and 13 countries, the story of the Sense8 cluster is coming to an end,” Cindy Holland, VP Netflix original content, said in the statement. “It is everything we and the fans dreamed it would be: bold, emotional, stunning, kick ass, and outright unforgettable. tl;dr, the game's setting is in Montana, and the enemy are a cult filled with White People and are viewed to apparently be Christians, especially with this photo It has even sparked a Peititon with demands to cancel the game, and remake it with "a more realistic threat" where they demand the threat to be of Terrorists, or POC. https://www.change.org/p/ubisoft-cancel-far-cry-5 They are not here for this game having white people viewed as terrorists in the U.S., when in reality it is accurate that most Terrorist attacks in the U.S., Are from white peop

Patty Jenkins' superhero origin story, starring Gal Gadot, is proving a hit with reviewers. The first Wonder Woman reviews are in, and it seems director Patty Jenkins and star Gal Gadot have lassoed the critics into loving DC Entertainment's origin story of the Amazonian warrior princess. As the review embargo broke Monday night, the movie crept toward a 96 percent fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and the general consensus seemed to be that Wonder Woman was a fun, romantic and enjoyable movie, perhaps even the best entry into the DC Extended Universe so far. Moreover, many critics felt th

Alamo Drafthouse announced a “women only” screening of “Wonder Woman” for June 6. “The most iconic superheroine in comic book history finally has her own movie, and what better way to celebrate than with an all-female screening?” wrote the Austin-based theater. “Apologies, gentlemen, but we’re embracing our girl power and saying ‘No Guys Allowed’ for one special night at the Alamo Ritz. And when we say ‘Women (and People Who Identify As Women) Only,’ we mean it. Everyone working at this screening — venue staff, projectionist, and culinary team — will be female.” The DC comic flick, w
