Russian President Vladimir Putin's spokesman said in an interview Sunday that the Russian ambassador who met with Trump campaign officials also met with “people working in think tanks advising Hillary or advising people working for Hillary.” “Well, if you look at some people connected with Hillary Clinton during her campaign, you would probably see that he had lots of meetings of that kind,” Dmitry Peskov told CNN “GPS” host Fareed Zakaria. “There are lots of specialists in politology, people working in think tanks advising Hillary or advising people working for Hillary.” Peskov said

The Republicans’ effort to pass their proposed replacement for the Affordable Care Act just got a whole lot harder. The Congressional Budget Office on Monday projected that the House leadership’s American Health Care Act would result in 24 million Americans losing their health insurance while raising premiums for those covered on the individual market. Their bill would lower federal deficits by $337 billion over 10 years, largely as a result of cuts to Medicaid that would reduce its enrollment by 14 million, according to the estimate. Average premiums would rise by as much as 20 percent i

Vice President Pence on Thursday vowed that the Trump administration would "use the full force of the law" to go after those involved in WikiLeaks' latest document dump if the materials they released are shown to be valid CIA documents. "Trafficking in national security information, as is alleged WikiLeaks has done here, is a very serious offense," Pence said during an interview on Fox News's "Special Report." "It represents a compromise of the security of the American people," he said. “This president and this administration will take that very seriously and use the full force of the -
The Democratic establishment has preserved its political power by providing the Center for American Progress (CAP)—a think tank founded by Clinton campaign Chairman John Podesta and run by Clinton surrogate Neera Tanden—with access and leverage over the party’s opposition to Trump. On March 8, Politico reported that CAP will host an event to vet their preferred presidential nominees for the 2020 elections. “Democratic Sens. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts, Cory Booker of New Jersey, Kamala Harris of California, Chris Murphy of Connecticut and Kirsten Gillibrand of New York; Montana Gov. S

President Trump’s 2018 budget will slash foreign aid in order to boost defense spending, the White House said Monday morning, promising cuts to almost every non-security category. His budget envisions a $54 billion spike in defense, with the money coming from cuts to domestic discretionary programs. “We will increase security and we will decrease lower-priority programs. Most federal agencies will see a reduction as a result,” said an Office of Management and Budget official, speaking on condition that he not be named. Source

Vice President Mike Pence used his personal AOL email address for public business while he was governor, and it was once hacked, the Indianapolis Star reported on Thursday. The Star obtained some of Pence’s privately sent emails about state business months after making a public records request. Some of the emails from the AOL account were not released because the information was considered too sensitive, the Star reported. The Indiana governor’s office did not immediately return BuzzFeed News requests for comment. A spokesman for Pence said the vice president had acted according to l

WASHINGTON — President Trump on Monday signed a revised version of his executive order banning migrants from predominantly Muslim nations, removing citizens from Iraq from the original travel embargo and scrapping a provision that explicitly protected religious minorities. The order, which comes about a month after federal judges blocked Mr. Trump’s haphazardly implemented ban in January on residents from seven Middle Eastern and African countries, was delayed for about a week as the White House sought to better coordinate its activities with federal agencies. It was also pushed back

The White House said Thursday it expects law enforcement agents to enforce federal marijuana laws when they come into conflict with states where recreational use of the drug is permitted. "I do believe you will see greater enforcement of it," White House press secretary Sean Spicer said regarding federal drug laws, which still list marijuana as an illegal substance. That's a reversal from the Obama administration's stance, which laid out in an official memo that the federal government wouldn't interfere in states where nonmedical use of marijuana is allowed. That guidance was

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) called on Attorney General Jeff Sessions to step down following revelations that he spoke to the Russian ambassador to the United States twice over the last year. In a tweet storm, Warren called for Sessions to resign and for a special prosecutor to investigate the Trump administration's ties to Russia. "It's a simple q: 'Have you been in contact with anyone connected to any part of the Russian government about the 2016 election?'" Warren tweeted. "Jeff Sessions answered 'No.' Turns out he met with the Russian Ambassador. Two months before the election."

ATLANTA – Former Labor Secretary Tom Perez has defeated Rep. Keith Ellison (D-Minn.) to become the next chairman of the Democratic National Committee in a blow to Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and the progressive wing of the party. Perez won with 235 votes on the second ballot, with 218 votes needed to reach a majority. He fell just shy in the first ballot, totaling 213.5 votes. The win came after Perez failed to clear the threshold required to win the first vote by only one ballot. Vice President Biden and other key figures from the Obama administration supported Perez, who backe

Former President George W. Bush offered some muted criticism for President Donald Trump Monday during a wide-ranging interview on NBC's "Today" show that touched on Russia, the travel ban and the free press. Bush said "we all need answers" regarding an investigation into reported ties between the Trump presidential campaign and the Russian government. But the former president stopped short of calling for a special prosecutor, saying instead that if Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Richard Burr made the recommendation, "it would have a lot more credibility with me." Bush was int

" Three left-leaning German parties would now win enough combined support to oust Chancellor Angela Merkel in September's election, according to an opinion poll by the INSA institute to be published in Bild newspaper on Tuesday. The newspaper said in advance of the report that it was the first time "in a long time" that a left-of-center coalition would have enough support to knock the Christian Democrats out of office. The three parties had enough votes to form a coalition after the last election in 2013 but opted not to join forces because of lingering SPD opposition to allian

A number of media outlets have been blocked from attending a White House press gaggle being held today. Among those banned are CNN, Politico, the LA Times, BuzzFeed and the New York Times. A number of mainstream outlets, along with conservative ones like Breitbart and One American News, were allowed to attend. The Associated Press and TIME boycotted the gaggle due to the other outlets being refused admittance. According to the White House, there was not a gaggle block as the pool was represented and some others were merely added. During his Conservative Political Action Conferen

Jackie Evancho, a 16-year-old “classical crossover” singer who sang the national anthem at Trump’s inauguration, is now hoping to use that as leverage to speak with the president following his administration’s withdrawal of Obama-era regulations regarding transgender children in public schools. “@realdDonaldTrump u gave me the honor 2 sing at your inauguration. This is the reality of what repealing Obamacare would mean for thousands in America. I'm glad to see people going to Republican town halls and just tearing these guys to shreds. Even funnier, I remember speculating that this Cotton would be the one to take on Hillary in 2020 if she had won in November so nice to see his bubble getting burst a bit.

WASHINGTON — The Department of Homeland Security on Tuesday released a set of documents translating President Trump’s executive orders on immigration and border security into policy, bringing a major shift in the way the agency enforces the nation’s immigration laws. Under the Obama administration, undocumented immigrants convicted of serious crimes were the priority for removal. Now, immigration agents, customs officers and border patrol agents have been directed to remove anyone convicted of any criminal offense. That includes people convicted of fraud in any official matter before
