Beyoncé - "4" Overview By 2011, Beyoncé had already achieved a string of #1 albums, multiple hit singles and millions of records sold worldwide, and this was just during her solo career. Since the days of being part of Destiny's Child, Beyoncé gradually developed as an artist. Her debut album Dangerously in Love was a huge success and allowed her to take on a more mature sound compared to the music of Destiny's Child. Her follow-up album B'Day was constructed slightly differently, being filled with upbeat catchy tracks and a few ballads. Her third album I Am... Sasha Fierce was the fir

Well i want to express my feelings about my second fave discography (inspired by 3 blogs i guess ) 6. Oops!... I Did It Again This is my least favorite album, sometimes I bop to Oops and Stronger and cry to Lucky and DLMBTLTK, but I can live without it, When Your Eyes Say It is another good song, should've been single, I think it's a cringe album, but still having some good lyrics/sounds, and the songs mentioned, anyway, I can understand that she was a teen blabla but... still not, I don't like it a lot tbh 5. ...Baby One More Time I like this album more than O

Looks like the legend that is Britney is winning quality-wise (which makes sense, since "Rise" is the definition of generic) Idolator: Rise - 5.7/10 Oh yay another melodramatic Sia-wave anthem! Make Me: 6.0/10 As for Britney, this is the freshest she’s sounded since her pioneering molly-pop days in 2011. And she does it without sounding like a legacy tryhard straining to stay relevant. The downside to Contemporarney is that it calls for a sense of anonymity. Entertainment Weekly: Rise - B+ Make Me: A- A Bit of Pop Music Rise

At last, 2 of the biggest names in music have premiered their new tracks online,Britney’s Make Me (ft. G-Eazy) and Katy Perry’s Rise. Both tracks are the lead singles from the pop princesses’ respective new eras, Katy’s 4th studio album and Britney’s 9th – but who has the edge? For the audio and our single reviews, keep scrolling! Britney Spears – Make Me (Ft. G-Eazy) When the track kicks in, the song sounds as though Britney is going in a very different direction to what we have become accustomed, yet she still manages to keep an aspect of the ‘Britney sound’ we have grown

LADY GAGA - BORN THIS WAY Overview Born This Way was released in May 2011 as Lady Gaga's third album (yes, I'm counting The Fame Monster as an album). The release of Born This Way had a lot of hype going behind it, Gaga had been dominating charts and award shows across the world with the combined successes of her debut The Fame and its follow-up The Fame Monster. All this success would inevitably lead to a huge amount of hype and interest to see what she could do next. Releasing a "Fame Monster 2.0" would've been an easy option and would've guaranteed her continued commercial success,

Punk Thriller Green Room avaliable on DVD/Bluray/Digital July 12th!
Sunshine Kitty posted a blog entry in Barbiej33p Horror
I dedicate this blog post to the late Anton Yelchin, who was the star of this film. Wow, just wow. This movie has got to be my favorite movie of this decade of not all time. I don't know why i loved it so much but I did, and apparently so did critics. The movie is certified FRESH on Rottentomatoes with a whopping 98 percent, and an impressive 7.3 on IMDB. Also this movie fits music forums perfectly because it focuses on a band The movie is heavily punk inspired, if you're into that sort of thing, great. if you're not, still great. Theres this band looking for gigs to make mon -

The Review – Luke, Jordan and Amanda 1) Intro (T.Brown, V.McCcants, A.Grande) Intro (Audio) What a lovely introduction from Miss Grande. It really sets the tone for the rest of the album, I get the feeling of a calming mellow zen type of music, layered with silky vocals. The lyrics “I’ll give you all I have, and nothing less I promise” is something I am holding Ariana to. 7/10 My instant reaction is that it sounds very Glee/Fairy tale – it does set a lovely tone for what I think is to come on the album and lyrically it matches the album title. This made me smile. 5/10 Seems pretty averag

Christina Aguilera - Lotus; album review 2 reviewers, Luke and Jordan. Luke is a casual Christina fan and Jordan is a stan so we have varied opinions on XTina. Any fans of the album here? She seems to get a bit of stick but I'm not sure why. 1) Lotus Intro (C.Aguilera, D.Abernathy, C.Pilay, A.Grant) Lotus intro (audio) OK, I don’t really have much to say for the intro. The start is very intriguing and the whole arrangement of the song makes it perfect for an intro, it keeps the listener interested with lyrics such as “This is the beginning” and “rebirth” which indicate a n

Britney Spears 'Circus' 2008 Album Review For the full review, click here: https://talkabouttunes.wordpress.com/2016/06/23/britney-spears-circus-2008/ The Review – Luke and Jordan 1. Womanizer (N.Briscoe, R.Akinyemi) Instantly I am in love with this track, the intro sounds like an alarm in a laboratory after a toxic spillage, the song then kicks in with killer hooks and catchy, memorable beats and lyrics. The attitude Britney portrays in this song is great, she is on a mission to ‘out’ womanizers everywhere. Even though the verses are kind of monotone

Ariana Grande 'Dangerous Woman' Review For the full track-by-track review and overall summary visit: https://talkabouttunes.wordpress.com/2016/05/17/arianadangerouswoman2016/ 1. Moonlight (A.Grande, T.Brown, V.McCants, P.L.Johnson) Awww, what a sweet introduction from Miss Grande; the soft tones at the beginning of the track which subtly carry the song almost sounds like a child’s lullabye. These are complimented by Grande’s ever changing vocal moments, with soft whispy vocals, angelic falsetto and haunting echos. The middle 8 is a lovely touch to the track with a

MEGHAN TRAINOR // THANK YOU I enjoyed doing the Lemonade review a couple weeks ago, so I thought I'd continue. I don't really fancy myself a Meghan Trainor stan, but given that she's seemingly trying to move away from her Title sound, who knows what will happen by the end. This is a first listen review btw, except for NO + Me Too. Leggo. 1. WATCH ME DO - 1/5 The production here feels super scatterbrained, and I'm tired of hearing about Meghan's "breasteses", frankly. 2. ME TOO - 3/5 Besides the fact that this beat is a shameless ripoff of Stev

BEYONCE // LEMONADE I don't know why I felt like doing this, boredom mostly I suppose, but as someone who typically doesn't curr for Beyonce, I thought it might be interesting to do a first listen review of Lemonade. Critics seem to be creaming themselves over it, so I wanted to see what all the hype was about. Rating each track from 1 - 5. Let's go. 1. PRAY YOU CATCH ME - 2/5 Intro's kinda weird, but seems like a standard ballad after that point with some urban influences in the beat. Kinda tired of hearing her say "pray you catch me" 18,000 times. C'mon, you your g

I know I'm not generally a fan of Meghan's or much of her music but I gave this album a shot since she did release some bops. I tried to remain as unbiased as possible. Watch Me Do When I first heard the title, I thought it would give me some Katy Perry "This Is How We Do" teas. Sadly, it's nothing of the sort. This entire sounds like some kind of demo that was accidentally put on the album and the finalized version is now lost forever. I guess you could listen to the song if you wanted to listen to a song with absolutely no meaning and you were feeling yourself. Five seconds into

Twenty-five years ago, on April 22, 1989, Madonna’s “Like a Prayer” hit No. 1. It has been a pop staple ever since, as have many of the singer’s biggest hits. But something about “Like a Prayer” captured the zeitgeist. Many still call it Madonna’s greatest song — a high honor considering she’s released 68 singles since her debut in 1982. In celebration of what is clearly her defining anthem, we’re ranking all of those songs. Rubric: • Billboard Hot 100 success (Many songs made splashes on the Hot Dance Club Play chart and abroad, including some that failed to chart on the Hot 100.

Taylor Swift 'Red' 2012 Album Review By Luke and Jordan Full review: https://talkabouttunes.wordpress.com/2016/06/16/taylor-swift-red-2012/ 1) State of Grace (T.Swift) As soon as the ‘Play’ button has been pressed, this seems like a great opener with gradual building drums and escalating guitar riffs – almost punky. Taylor then graces us with her vocals, singing about who ‘we’ are in metaphorical terms. The track seems to work well as an interlude, as there isn’t much of a chorus to grab on to, it’s quite wishy-washy. The song starts to pick up b

This one is dedicated to @Hunty Bear Vespertine - Björk 1. Hidden Place: 10/10 One of my favorite Björk songs The production is adventurous and it reminds me of dark skies and the beginning of snow flurries, which will soon become a blizzard. The lyrics are just as adventurous and beautiful to match the production. Gorgeous chorus Slay me Bjallah 2. Cocoon: 10/10 Definitely one of Björk's most ambient and peaceful songs. This is Björk's sex JAM. When will your faves write about sex so flawlessly and tastefully though? She literally sings about her love

Demi Lovato 'Confident' 2015 Album Review By Luke and Jordan Full Review: https://talkabouttunes.wordpress.com/2016/06/10/demi-lovato-confident-2015/ 1) Confident (M.Martin, S.Kotecha, D.Lovato, Ilya) Right away we are set up for what is sure to be a great journey if the opening track ‘Confident’ is anything to go by. It’s clear to see that this is single material, it’s an anthem and an empowerment track without being too egotistical. The backing music is reminiscent of a modern day ‘Eye of the tiger’ and deserves the same success. I could see this
