  2. Prism:Review I only just listened to this album, so I'm about four years late. However, Im not too late to say how good the majority of it is. From 1-7, the album was as good as music from Katy can be.Im not going to make this long as Katy is one of my faves, but I dont stan her as much as i do my others. As many of us have noticed,Perry was aiming for a darker type of abum. This is obvious in songs like Legendary lover and Dark Horse. And before anyone can say its not the first time Katy has gone dark, but its just distinct here. They sound distant, almost like hymes of pop music. T
  3. My Love is Your Love:Review Whitney was a legendary singer who had some of the biggest, most memorable hits from the 80s and 90s, yet it dawned on me rather quickly that her discography was...well...not-so-legendary. Lets be honest, Whitney's two first albums were weak and I Look to You and The Bodyguard ST are no better. And this is coming from her biggest stans for those who now me. Yet when she released MLIYL, the critics were widely acceptant of the project-and so was I. My Love is Your Love is a classical R&B album in which Whitney seemed to focus on not only the type of mus
  4. Anti I declare it. Anti is one of Riri's best works as a whole, if not her best. Upon listening to Work, the album's lead single I didnt think much of the album, saying to myself it would be just like her last seven.(By the way, Work was the best song of February 2016, seriously)I was so wrong. The album's production and vocals were outstanding. Now we all know vocally,RiRi isnt the queen(come on stans, you know it), but for once in her decade-long career, Rihanna took her time to make an album where not only bops can be made, but her voice would be more developed. I always said thi
  5. When was the last megarate for Lady Katy? I wasnt here for it. Will(can there be)there be another one anytime soon?

  7. Hey girlies, today I was watching Beyoncé's performance at the VMA's (2016) and I think understood what Beyoncé was trying to say with Lemonade so get a cup of whatever you want and some snacks because this is going to be a long ride. While I also believed the rumours of Lemonade being about her relationship with Jay-Z, now I believe it's about black women and the black community. Of course not every single black woman on earth has been cheated on, but Beyoncé is not focusing Lemonade on the "what" but on the "why". Keep in mind that in this review I'll say Beyoncé a lot, but I'm n
  8. When Lady Gaga hits the Super Bowl stage, at least one subject will be off limits: Politics. A source close to the halftime show tells ET, "Lady Gaga was told by the NFL that she cannot say anything or bring anything up about the election, or mention Donald Trump." Gaga's personal opinions on the election have hardly been a mystery. The 30-year-old pop star had been a prominent supporter of Hillary Clinton and was photographed holding a "Love Trumps Hate" sign outside New York's Trump Tower following the election results. As for a report that Gaga is plotting a potentially da
  9. Ok before I start I just wanna say that Kiss Me Once is still my 2nd least fave Kylord album. However, lately I've been listening to it more and I've actually come to enjoy it to a certain degree. So Here's a new review ........... 1) Into The Blue - Actually a pretty good song. A good opening to the album and it's clear why this was the lead. It has powerful production but there's some aspects of the production I don't like 8/10 2) Million Miles - Great intro. However I don't like how the production develops. Still, it's a good song with fairly good lyrics 7.5/10 3) I Was Gonna
  10. Since this is a relatively short album I was able to listen to it a lot more times in the last few days than other 1 hour+ albums. Heeeeeere we go! FULL REVIEW OVERALL - 73 on Lachlancritic
  11. So if you didn't already know I've been working my way through Madge's discography the past couple of weeks and will continue to do so over the next month or two. I thought it would be nice for a newer fan to post reviews and see if the stone-age stans agree. Starting off with her debut as it's the only album so far I've really digested. 12. There has been a bit of Sheeran-mania Friday (Jan. 6), as Ed Sheeran finally delivered new music to the world after more than a year away from social media and nearly two years without new tunes of his own. But as we had "Shape of You" and "Castle on the Hill" on repeat in celebration of their simultaneous release, we couldn't help thinking where they fall in comparison to Sheeran's other singles. Sheeran's two recent additions bring his solo single total up to 14 (not including his promotional singles), but we also felt we should include some of his notable features that were released as
  13. Welcome to Venus XCX's 16 Best Albums of 2016 Countdown Thread! An introductory message by Venus XCX: List:
  14. Felt like doing this so Let's Get To It 1) Word Is Out - I really like this song. It has great 90's production and a good flow. I can see why this single wasn't as successful however 9/10 2) Give Me Just A Little More Time - Complete and total filler but it's still a cute song 6.5/10 3) Too Much Of A Good Thing - TALENT. This song is great and I love the samples that it uses. Great production and flow as well as lyrics 10/10 4) Finer Feelings - One of her best songs. Serves great R&B influenced production. Also has very good lyrics and a good amount of depth 10/10
  15. Greetings everybody! It's winter break from school and I have finally had time to compile a list of my favorite songs of the year. 2016 was rough. Meghan Trainor won a grammy, the internet became obsessed with a dead gorilla, 21 pilots wouldn't stop getting spins on the radio, and Donald Trump became president. Despite all of that chaos, 2016 was a pretty good year for music. Even though there weren't many, if any, huge break out stars compared to recent years, we can all admit that established artists such as Beyonce, Bieber, Rihanna, The Weeknd, and even Britney managed to release some of th
  16. Rolling Stone has compiled a list of the best pop albums of 2016. Anti is at #2. Rihanna's long-simmering eighth album brought together stinging songs that showcased the pop provocateur's ever-widening range, both stylistically and vocally. She channeled late-night loneliness and regret-tinged isolation on clamorous club arguments ("Woo") and faithful covers of Aussie indie-psych ("Same Ol' Mistakes") alike, creating a stark tableau on which she could work out grievances with those who have disappointed her. There are quite a few: The sinewy, dancehall-inspired "Work" is a parry toward a
  17. Might as well do this here considering we have the section This is a review for the Gayest album of all time LIGHT YEARS 1) Spinning Around - One of her most popular and well-remembered songs. Also a total bop and a really fun song. Also very applicable to that point in her career considering her come back. The perfect come back single 10/10 2) On A Night Like This - ICONIC. LEGENDARY. Truly one of her best ever songs to me. Amazing production and a total event of a song. One of my fave Kylie songs ever 10/10 3) So Now Goodbye - Filler number one This song adds nothing to
  18. Rolling Stone has listed the 20 Best Pop Albums of 2016. "Joanne" is at #7. Lady Gaga promised country-pop for her fifth studio album Joanne, but actually served up an excellent slice of acoustic pop that was part Seventies FM, part Nineties alternative. From the driving "Diamond Heart" to the excellent ballad "Million Reasons," Gaga's soft-rock transformation takes the pop star into a new direction without losing her flair for the dramatic and penchant for the kitschy. Those moments of fusion – like the novelty country-dance tune "John Wayne" and Beck co-penned masturbation banger "Danci
  19. i just think its funny how people are so pressed about Camila having a top ten single right now . And now i heard the news about her leaving the group oh yesss yall are about to be shook af . Mark my words ; when her debut drops , we are gonna be like selena who , ariana who , demi who ? . we need some new pop girls . she already has a loyal stanbase so stop wishing her to flop . Camila is going place with her humbleness , nice attitude , catchy voice , and her look . HATE ON IT .
  20. LUCIEN's Picks For 2016 Bonjour, and welcome to my picks for this year, where I will be sharing my opinions of my favourites bodies of music from 2016. Disclaimer I have musical favourites that change frequently (except Kesha, who's albums are my top picks always), so I'll be doing my favourites in sections where they will be arranged in alphabetical order by artist. For me 2016 has been a better year in music, because simply more music was released this year that I like. Also the fact that nearly all of my faves put out new music this year adds to me being content with 2016. I thin
