  3. Showtime is bringing back everyone’s favorite serial killer. The pay cable network ordered a 10-episode limited series revival of “Dexter” with Michael C. Hall reprising his role as Dexter Morgan. Clyde Phillips is returning as showrunner for the 10-episode limited run that is tentatively scheduled to premiere next fall. Phillips ran the show through its first four, and much more celebrated, seasons when the series was routinely nominated for Emmy awards, including Best Drama. “Dexter” cycled through showrunners after Phillips’ departure. https://www.thewrap.com/dexter-revival-showtime-michael-c-hall/
  4. Ewan McGregor will soon be donning Obi-Wan Kenobi’s Jedi robes once again. During a Zoom appearance on the BBC’s “The Graham Norton Show” Friday night, McGregor revealed that Disney Plus’ untitled Obi-Wan Kenobi series is finally set to begin filming in March of 2021. “It’s the Obi-Wan Kenobi story, I suppose. It’s not all me, but it certainly will be a lot of me, which is good,” McGregor said of the show. “We start shooting it in March next year.” Though the Obi-Wan-centric series was first announced back in Aug. 2019 and meant to begin filming the next year, the shoot was delayed when writer Hossein Amini left the project in Jan. 2020. Amini was eventually replaced by Joby Harold in April of 2020, and script rewrites forced production to be delayed into 2021. Then, the COVID-19 pandemic struck. Deborah Chow, who directed part of Disney Plus’ “The Mandalorian,” remains at the helm of the series. During the interview, McGregor also addressed his appreciation for Alec Guinness, who played Kenobi in the original “Star Wars” trilogy and died in 2000. https://variety.com/2020/tv/news/ewan-mcgregor-disney-plus-obi-wan-kenobi-star-wars-1234800083/

Does anybody here watch this show? I loved the first four seasons and still mostly liked Archer Vice and season 6-7, only just finally started watching Dreamland I'm glad they're back to normal in season 11 but I still plan to watch Danger Island and 1999, have higher hopes for the latter.
  7. Dynasty is an American prime time television soap opera reboot based on the 1980s series of the same name. Developed by Josh Schwartz, Stephanie Savage, and Sallie Patrick, the new series stars Grant Show as Blake Carrington, Nathalie Kelley as his new wife Cristal Flores Carrington, Elizabeth Gillies as Blake's daughter Fallon, and James Mackay as his son Steven. The pilot, which was announced in September 2016, was ordered to series in May 2017. Dynasty premiered on October 11, 2017, on The CW in the United States, and on Netflix internationally a day later.
  8. Freeform’s 31 Nights of Halloween lineup might seem like a whole bunch of Hocus Pocus, but there’s actually quite a bit of variety this year. In fact, the beloved 1993 film starring Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy is scheduled to air just 14 times in 2020. That might sound like a lot… until you discover that the basic cabler aired the Walt Disney flick a whopping 30 (!) times in 2019. Aside from Hocus Pocus, 2020’s most frequently programmed films include Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride (airing 13 times), Beetlejuice and Casper (each airing 12 times), and The Addams Family and Addams Family Values (each airing 11 times). You’ll also find multiple Simpsons marathons and select Disney Channel classics, including Halloweentown and Twitches. New to the lineup are 2016’s Ghostbusters reboot, Hotel Transylvania 2 and 3, The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor and The Scorpion King. Full lineup: TVLine
  9. Ratched is a suspenseful drama series that tells the origin story of asylum nurse Mildred Ratched. In 1947, Mildred arrives in Northern California to seek employment at a leading psychiatric hospital where new and unsettling experiments have begun on the human mind. On a clandestine mission, Mildred presents herself as the perfect image of what a dedicated nurse should be, but the wheels are always turning and as she begins to infiltrate the mental health care system and those within it, Mildred’s stylish exterior belies a growing darkness that has long been smoldering within, revealing that true monsters are made, not born.

  11. “The Walking Dead” will end after the upcoming Season 11 on AMC, with the network also ordering a spinoff series built around the characters Daryl Dixon and Carol Peletier, Variety has learned. Season 11 of AMC’s flagship show, which was originally meant to air this year but was delayed due to the pandemic, will air over two years and consist of 24 episodes in total beginning in late 2021. It was previously announced six additional episodes that will be considered part of Season 10 will be shot and aired in early 2021, meaning 30 additional episodes of “The Walking Dead” remain to be filmed and aired through late 2022. The episode originally intended to be the Season 10 finale is set to air on Oct. 4 after being delayed in April, also due to the pandemic. The untitled Daryl-Carol spinoff will see “The Walking Dead” stars and fan favorites Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride continue on in those roles. The pair have long been praised for their characters’ onscreen chemistry, with Reedus and McBride currently being the only two cast members of the flagship show who have been onboard since Season 1. https://variety.com/2020/tv/news/walking-dead-final-season-11-daryl-carol-spinoff-series-amc-1234762220/
