I'm sure there were threads like this before, but I'm making a new one. ( @Dita bump that thread you made about folk music and everyone posted their country's anthem and all that, you know the one)

I thought it would be interesting to get to know other country's iconic pop hits. It can be current ones, it can be retro ones that your parents bopped to, and you still bop to today.

 

So here are some note-worthy songs from the iconic Hungary. We have quite a few quality ones, even tho 80% of Hungarian pop is absolute shit. (But no one can compete with the beauty of our language!):

 

Let's start off with a current one. This song is by a former contestant of the Hungarian X Factor. I hear this song all the time on the radio and it SLAYS MY LIFE! His voice! Titled "Full Moon"

 

 

Ok, another one. She's a Hungarian pop singer. This one's from 2008, still relatively new. I love this so much! Titled "Black Lipstick"

 

 

So, let's move onto someone special. She won the 3rd season of the Hungarian singing contest Megasztár. She has a wonderful voice. Here are two beautiful songs from her.

The current one "Sky and Earth"

 

And an older one. Kinda sappy, but I like it .

Titled "Gábriel" (She's referring to the angel in case any of you wondered, but it's a love song. I really can't describe the beauty of the lyrics to any of these songs, you'd have to speak Hungarian to be able to truly appreciate it)

 

 

So let's move onto a current legend. He's one of the most respected and popular Hungarian musicians.

His most famous song, "This Is How We Were". Everyone knows this here.

 

Finally. A true musical legend. He was one ugly motherfucker but his music was absolutely breathtaking. Literally EVERYONE in Hungary knows these songs.
