With underrated gems like Overprotected, Cinderella, Anticipating, Boys, Slave, and stupid song but amazing bop Bombastic Love you should all be stanning

So below either say why you don't like it that much, why it doesn't stand out for you, or just bask in the pop perfection of this album

I haven't listened to that album yet but I love Overprotected. I guess I should give it a try

It sounds dated to me for the most part.

 

However Cinderella, Overprotected, Slave, What It's Like To Be Me, and Anticipating are the only songs I listen to. 

 

Bombastic Love is a bop too.

Holy Trinity: Britney, In the Zone, Blackout

 

I've come to love this album much more than Oops and BOMT. I just wish it wasn't a complete promotion for Crossroads cause the bonus tracks are amazing.

 

But it was the perfect transition from the teen pop to the urban pop of In the Zone. And a great era for that album. Great videos, great tour, great performances.

lbr, most Britney stans these days are the same age now as I was (18) when the album came out, so they probably weren't checking for pop girls back then.

 

I love the album, but I also have the nostalgia glasses on, as I was in hyper stan mode for Britney in 2001 and had been since I heard the album two years earlier, which may very well color my view of it. For newer stans who are listening to it long after the fact, it may not have the same appeal.

 

Cinderella is probably my fav song on the standard album, although my two favorites are bonus tracks - Before The Goodbye and I Run Away.

I kinda agree with the OP, to the GP it is her most forgotten album and the Army enjoys it but similar to Circus it isn't as highly regarded as ITZ, Blackout (or even FF ). Lonely is one of my favourite Britney songs, deserved to be a single tbh  I love BOMT and Oops but this really was her first album you could play straight through without skipping a song imo. Amazing album

 

The original idea of a Crossroads soundtrack being separate should have happened though.

bc her team messed this up i still remember that 2 album ( Soundtrack and 3rd Studio Album) announcment they made in 2001

 

than they cancelled the soundtrack and put Not A Girl, ILRNR & Overprotected on "britney"
