No, there's always a jump between generations. Let's Go has the same graphics as Gen 7 but upscaled because it's Gen 7. Next year's game will look different for sure, but anyone thinking they're gonna go 4K Ultra HD Open World MMO *insert other buzzwords here* is deluding themselves. The games will look nice though.

Does anyone wanna do a semi-competitive draft league with me and a few others when LGPE releases?

 

Haven't decided on all the rules but we'd basically vote on the Pokemon (to decide if they're allowed and which tier they're in) beforehand and then take turns drafting them. We'd do one battle per week each, against someone else, and eventually the top cut (2, if there's 6 people, or 4, if there's 8 or more) would fight it out for the crown in the finals (or semi-finals). 

 

I can't decide on rules and things till we know everything about LGPE's metagame and what's included and what's not included; but it'll be an *easier* draft league to start with since the Pokemon roster is significantly lower.

I'm more concerned about "Gen 8" pokemon in the title. like no, it's still gen 7. 

 

Joe is adamant that it's not a placeholder so I guess he maybe knows its legit. I don't... hate it but I'm not a fan of Ditto with a nut for a hat. Then again, I'm not a Ditto fan either. But in some regards this kinda seems like a redux of the steel type ditto evolution from the beta of Gold and Silver, so hopefully - if it is indeed related to Ditto - that means cross-gen evolutions again next gen (come thru Trifox  )

 

What I don't understand is - if this is related to Ditto - how this is exclusive to the relationship between Go and Let's Go. It's a gift for linking the games together, but if it's related; what stops you from evolving Ditto in either game? Is it an item available in gen 8 only that evolves it - an item they also won't put into Go until late 2019 perhaps? That's all I can think of...

The absolute negativity people are expressing because of this possible Pokémon is insane. People saying they’re done with the series and they decided to cancel their pre-orders.  Video comment sections are such pits sometimes.

The new Pokémon temporarily showed up in Asia and Oceania Pokémon Go before becoming Keckleon in the wild. The people that were able to catch it said it would become Ditto, Chikorita, and a few other Pokémon.

I feel like the association it has with Ditto in its appearance and the fact that it became Ditto after being captured, and Keckleon through the discovery of its model and it becoming Keckleon after a while in the wild definitely implies this new Pokémon has some sort of transformation or disguise mechanism.

this is so interesting and the thing is whether its a glitch or not  I was going to say IF it was showing up in Go then it can't be the Exclusive for linking the games, but perhaps it is if it changes into others in Go instead. 

 

However the initial interview did kinda imply more than one new mon.

The game never received good press from fans anyway.

When the fans wanted a change up in the battle system, they want difficulty, they want some switch up in the battle. Not...  this.

That’s true. Still though, I think some people are being a bit over the top in regards to these games. It’s one thing to not like them, but another to denounce the series as a whole when the easier Pokémon Go-esque features aren’t indicative of the future games.

It's the Youtube comments section, like what else would you expect  Almost as bad as 4Chan.  

 

My twitter timeline is such a positive place and I just cannot wait for November, it's gonna be awesome  This is an experience I would have dreamed of 15 years ago.

I used to say I didn’t want another Kanto remake, but I’m so excited to revisit it in such beautiful graphics. I’m pretty excited to try all the new features and mechanics, for me this all makes the change from gen V to gen VI seem so small. I know Let’s Go will deliver

I'm so pleased with everything. Apart from not being able to use next gen Pokemon - which is kinda the same issue as FRLG and I'm sad they repeated it (although considering all the unique animations and personality in this game, I do understand why). But apart from that, I think having a simpler experience without abilities and held items is actually kinda refreshing competitively too - even though it's not a competitive game. And Kanto is just always gonna be my favorite, I'm so happy everytime I see little changes - even like Bellsprout and Oddish now being in Viridian Forest. It just excites me. Can't wait to see more re-designs!!  

 

Also we're gonna do a semi-competitive draft battle league at some point next year for LGPE so if u'd like to join feel free. It'll be rly interesting to see how much change happens to some Pokemon without ability/item support.
