Maybe I shouldn't   dead2

For a moment when I saw the OP I thought Merry Christmas II You fell off the Top 200 after debuting at 4, that would've been the most tragic mess ever  dead2

Rip The Elusive Chanteuse

I'm mad Emotions never reached Top 3, let alone the top spot.

Elusive is the perfect word for its situation on the charts   moo1

Tbh the album deserved better, I'm surprised Emotions didn't go Top 3 or Top 2 just off the hype of the debut the year before.

I remember they sabotaged the Can't Let Go single release a bit to make more people buy the entire album, not the single, yet it still didn't crack into Top 3 laughcry1

That's messy because it ended her career-opening streak of No.1's     moo2

In what way did they sabotage it?

According to Wikipedia:

The record company had taken the single off from sales before it could reach number 1, in an attempt to boost sales of Emotions.

Her team/label had many dumb ideas but this one is just... laughcry1

dead1  ......um couldn't they just choose better timing or at least wait for it to hit no.1 for a week or something   dead1

If pop music forums and social networking were around at that time, the Lambs would have been FUMING and having Meltdowns all over social media   dead7

Yeah, and the meltdowns would be iconique so that Can't Let Go would become her most impactful and remembered single just because of the meltdowns creep1

There would've been Marry the Night-esque meltdowns when Anytime You Need a Friend became her first single not to go top 10  dead7

The meltdowns and draggings that would occur when When You Believe didn't go Top 10  dead7

It's still a mystery to me tbh. I mean, it was a duet Whitney + Mariah, for God's sake, it should be #1 for like 68726 years awk1
