This Used To Be My Playground - Erotica?

listening to this track now... we know it was recorded during the erotica sessions but do you consider it an erotica track?

if so - where would you place it on the album? without changing any of M's commercial album tracklisting around... where would you pop it in?

if you look at other songs such as DAD which wasn't recorded during the AL session but was on the AL album... and defo part of the album as there was another track after it - she clearly thought of DAD as part of AL so is TUTBMP part of erotica but left off cos of time constraints cos god knows its a long album (cut to 2015 and a super deluxe version of Rh which lasts all night)

i don't think it was even supposed to be there, but maybe she took this song as inspiration for songs like bad girl, rain, in this life...

i think shep said in his diaries that it was recorded towards the end of the sessions - so can't be the inspiration for the others... 

but also this does point out that it was recorded at the end of the sessions when she was filming the movie and wanted a song for the film...

perhaps it was just handy to have shep in the studio at the time, M may have never considered it an erotica track per se

like I'll Remember - for absolutely YEARS i always thought of it as an erotica era track even though its not from the sessions, but she had the rain look in the video, and an erotica album track was used as the b-side... AND the single cover image was from rain video... its totally separate but i can now see why i thought it was from that era

I don't think it should be on any studio albums. That way, releasing a ballad best made more sense. Something To Remember is full of underrated gems and that's how i (and my Mum) like it
