mostly cuz she only does RnB, but Whit and Moo and Janet accomplished much more, it's just that they didn't stick to RnB

Mary J tbh

Mary J Blige is the most consistent with her genre so the title is definitely hers. The likes of Mariah and Janet are a little too diversed.

Mary has been doing a lot of dance and house music recently though.

which is why i no longer listen to the good sis (or Usher)      xtina11

Imma go with Janet with this one, i guess. Her signature low-beat R&B groove is still my favorite     jj2

The one who pioneered crossover pop hits on RnB radio in the early '80s by a black female artist, had 7 consecutive number one hits, the best selling soundtrack of all time, the best selling Gospel album of all time, and is the most awarded female artist of all time (Whitneywhit1)

Whitney didn't write her songs though when Mariah did so I would give the title to someone who actually created the songs and such. Whitney was amazing, but Mariah contributed more than her voice she also wrote some of the best R&B songs.

She may not have written them, but Whitney produced all the time and always made sure that the songs she sang reflected where she was and what she was feeling. I think that, coupled with the fact that Whitney has always been bigger and more influential than Mariah should warrant Whitney getting the title.

The same can be said for Mariah seeing as SHE actually WROTE the songs and even did the melodies that alone deems her more worthy of the title than whitney. Whitney had the better voice but Moo actually wrote those songs and I would say was more in-tune with the genre and i was always evident that Mariah wanted to do that type of music. She even started the whole rent a rapper thing that most singers utilize and do till this very day. I think mariah is more worthy of that title cause again she contributed more than ha voice

I know that the same can be said for Mariah, I was just saying that you were basically calling Whitney out for not writing her songs when they still were a part of her.

Whitney pioneered black R&B female artists crossing over to mainstream pop charts. Without her, there would be no Mariah, Bey, or Rihanna. That's why i think she deserves the title.

I get that the songs were still a part of her, but the songs Mariah wrote are her own creations down to the melodies just saying I feel like Mariah was more in tune with the music since she in fact created it from scratch rather than just getting someone else to write it that's all. Yes, Whitney did Pioneer it for black woman but you have to remember when Mariah first came out people didn't consider her black so her pioneering it for black female artist wouldn't effect Moo.  It's all debatable though who is the queen personally i think moo is more deserving. jj2 R.I.P nippy
