I personally think it's a "Peter Pan Syndrome" case like Michael Jackson but with gender identity thrown into the mix. Clearly the guy didn't have the childhood as a little he always wanted and now he is regressing backwards to relive it. I don't think it's a fetish like infantilism because this isn't sexual. 

However despite him missing out on his true, fulfilling childhood I don't think it be wise to just become a kid again. It doesn't work like that and he is definitely not the person who missed out on a childhood.

Ummmmm what the actual fuck? There is absolutely nothing wrong with identifying as transgender, but claiming they're six years old (but previously 8)? Not to mention, which lunatic parents would "adopt" this person to be with their children. Things like this is why people make a mockery out of trans issues, and why they haven't really been taken seriously in the whole scale of things. What I'm confused about is, is she actually transgender or just a man pretending to be a (6 year old) girl for the sake of shaking a few responsibilities of adulthood?
