Is Kylie still in love with Michael Hutchence?

Recommended Posts

Kylie has notoriously never been married and doesn't have any kids ( cry8 ) and some say it is because one of ha old boyfriends, Michael Hutchence (who committed suicide) still haunts ha nat1 what do you guys think

Spoiler

SHE is the sexiest woman in pop who could have any man she wants. But Kylie Minogue, who hit No1 with Can't Get You Out Of My Head, has never found lasting true love.

And today for the first time we can reveal the reason for her failure with men - she is haunted by her searing affair with dark giant of rock Michael Hutchence.

In the first part of an exclusive serialisation of the new book Kylie's Men - by Sunday People showbiz writer SHARON MARSHALL - we tell how the beauty is unable to fully give her heart to another man because of Hutchence, who hanged himself four years ago. A family friend said: "Kylie is still haunted to this day by him. You never mention his name around her. It is taboo."

Here we tell how the sweet little princess from Neighbours fell in love with Hutchence, who thrived on drugs and group sex, and how she is still obsessed by him...

ROCK star Michael Hutch-ence once boasted that his favourite hobby was corrupting Kylie Mynogue. He did a very good job - and she is still haunted by him to this day.

They first met at around midnight in a dingy bar called Benny's in the back streets of Sydney's notorious King's Cross red light district.

SHE was 21, the wholesome bubblegum princess who played tomboy Charlene in Neighbours - a far cry from the writhing sex queen of pop she is now.

HE was 28, the frontman of Aussie supergroup INXS (pronounced In Excess) who revelled in plumbing new depths in the booze-drugs-and-sex life of the rock world.

Within months of the unlikely pair getting together, squeaky-clean Kylie...

HAD SEX on a packed Jumbo jet.

WAS CAUGHT with the implements of bondage sex.

DECLARED that drug-taking was fun.

REPLACED her wholesome image with raunchy micro-skirts and blonde wigs.

There are two versions of the chat-up line that Hutchence used that first night in Benny's bar - but what is certain is that he made his intentions clear.

One is that he told her: "I don't know what we should do first - have lunch or have sex."

The other is that he ran across to her screaming: "I want to **** you. I want to **** you."

True

Kylie, a mousy-haired fluffy little thing who was then secretly dating her Neighbours co-star Jason Donovan, was too shocked to say anything.

She barely drank and despised Jason's cannabis-smoking.

The thought of her hooking up with notorious drug abuser Hutchence was unthinkable.

She confessed later: "I couldn't make the words come out of my mouth. I was too taken aback."

One year later they met again in Japan - and the change was astonishing.

Jason spent two weeks desperately trying to call his lover as the rumours spread that Kylie was hooked up with the INXS rocker.

Eventually, weeks after meeting Hutchence, she rang Jason at his New York hotel and confessed the gossip was true. She was with Hutchence. And she was in love.

She didn't realise that more than 10 years later Hutchence would still be haunting her and controlling her emotions from beyond the grave.

Everything about Kylie changed overnight as she ditched her wholesome image to that more suited as the consort of a rock star. Their first outing together was at the Australian premiere of her film The Delinquents.

Kylie hid her bubble perm under a cropped platinum blonde wig. She wore a short, revealing black and silver dress.

Michael grinned as he crudely told everyone how Kylie was "the best **** in the world".

Jason fell apart. Their four-year romance was over. Kylie twisted the knife by dismissing their romance as "a childhood relationship".

Meanwhile, she gushed: "Michael is a wonderful teacher and lover. I was turning from a girl into a young woman. I hadn't experienced that much. He was witty, funny and filthy." Witty, funny and filthy stunts included having in-flight sex in full view of other passengers, including the Australian prime minister Bob Hawke, on a jumbo jet.

Kylie was so small, claimed Hutchence's friend Nick Egan later, that Hutch simply lifted her on top of him on the seat and popped a blanket over her.

Thrill

Other incidents include Kylie having a pair of handcuffs - one of Hutchence's favourite "toys" for bondage sex - confiscated from her luggage at Heathrow airport when they were travelling together.

Drugs played a massive part, too. Kylie had always loathed them but twisted Hutchence managed to persuade her, claims US author Dino Scatena in his biography Kylie. In it he claims: "It took a while to convince Kylie that a bit of dope or an ecstasy tablet wouldn't kill her. Kylie soon relented.

"The pair would become regular early-morning fixtures in a handful of Sydney's trendiest nightclubs.

"On some outings Kylie would look worse for wear, stumbling downstairs, crashing out on lounges."

Egan claimed in a TV documentary that Hutchence also loved the drugs- induced thrill of dicing with his lover's life.

He said: "They had taken liquid Ecstasy with this guy, a marksman, and Kylie was sniffing a rose. The guy shot the rose from under her nose so it blew up in her face. Hutchence got a certain thrill from that." Kylie was forced to deny circulating stories that she had been hospitalised by her drug-taking and needed her stomach to be pumped free of drugs.

But she lost her Goody-Two Shoes image when she gave an interview in which she appeared to confess to and condone drugs use.

She said: "It can be fun and it can be dangerous. I'm all for kids not taking drugs. But I don't want to say to them you should never try anything."

By this time Kylie was being labelled Kylie Thin-ogue as she was pictured, gaunt and pale, stumbling out of nightclubs, clearly feeling the strain of Michael's partying.

She claimed in interviews to feel calmer, less strung-out under Hutchence's influence. But she looked exhausted and ill. And gloating Hutchence loved every minute of it.

He had one positive effect on her career. She vowed to drop the sickly- sweet gushiness of tracks like Especially For You.

Her clothes got skimpier. She had changed into a sex-charged vixen.

Writhed

The dance track Better The Devil You Know was released with a video in which Kylie writhed in the arms of a naked black man who was twice her size.

The pop moguls who launched her singing career, Stock Aitken and Waterman, were aghast and begged her to revert to her wholesome image.

She refused and the song was a hit in the UK, reaching No5. Meanwhile, she was utterly, utterly in love with Hutchence. He was besotted and called her his baby, but was utterly, utterly unfaithful to her.

"The problem was," says one former lover of Michael's, "that Michael had a huge appetite for sex. He adored Kylie, but was regularly offered threesomes while on tour. He never turned it down.."

Kylie heard the rumours about the groupies, but found out for sure she had at least one love-rival - supermodel Helena Christensen, then 19.

Kylie confronted Hutchence and he admitted he had slept with Helena.

Kylie burst into tears, told him it was over and walked out of his life.

But she was inconsolable and has been tortured by her decision ever since. Kylie said: "I was so hurt when we broke up because I was very much in love with him. I spent a good part of the time crying my heart out."

But the real nightmare began when Hutchence, 37, was found hanging by a leather belt from a hook on his hotel door room in Sydney on November 22, 1997.

Kylie was at the funeral, head bowed and speechless with grief as she watched the casket carrying her former lover.

TV personality Paula Yates, who was Hutchence's last lover, won the sympathy and attention as she clutched their daughter Tiger Lily.

For Kylie the emotions were just as painful and searing as she watched the funeral of the man she loved.

And the sinister influence of Hutchence was still at work on both women even after his squalid death.

Within three years heartbroken Paula, 41, ex-wife of rock star Bob Geldof, was dead from a drug overdose - convinced that one day she'd be reunited with her INXS lover.

And today, 10 years after they separated, Kylie is still haunted by the only man she has ever really worshipped.

She is convinced she will never find true love again and has never let a man get really close to her since, despite several well-publicised affairs.

Since the day she stood sobbing in his hotel room 10 years ago as he admitted he had bedded Helena Christensen behind her back, Kylie has never got over him.

Spirit

But family and friends fear she has a doomed and unhealthy infatuation with Hutchence.

Kylie admits she believes she is haunted by his spirit. She says he visited her on the day of his funeral and has regularly appeared to her since.

Once family friend says: "Kylie says his spirit appears and comforts her.

"Hutchence may be dead, but he still has a total control over her from beyond the grave.

"She says it feels like his spirit appears to tell her, `Everything's OK'."

Privately her friends feel just the opposite.

Kylie, now 33, has always said she wants to be a wife and a mother, but no man can ever compete with a dead rock star whom she idolises.

The friend adds: "Unless she gets help to come to terms with Michael's death, Kylie is never going to find happiness."

Her obsession with her ex-lover is so bad, says family friend Michael Edwards-Hammond, that people are banned from even mentioning Hutchence's name in Kylie's presence.

Hammond says: "The one `no' word that you never discuss around her is Hutchence. It's a total, total taboo."

Hammond, who dated Kylie's sister Danni for two years added: "Kylie was totally besotted with him.

"She was on that rollercoaster of sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll.

"She was completely and utterly thrown by his death. I once said his name in front of Kylie.

"Danni just turned on me and said `Please, please. Never ever mention that name around Kylie, around our mother, around me. Never. It is all just still so raw, raw, raw'."

Tbh this sounds like a tabloid-sized shit.

Author acts like she's Kylie's confidante and uses really crude descriptions um2

Michael didn't commit suicide, that was an erotic asphyxiation incident (funny, this rude bitch knowing-wink author didn't mention it with her love for seemingly steamy details), second sorry, Michael Hutchence was never a "dark giant of rock", he was more of a backwater version of Jim Morrison. I love INXS and Michael but lesbe realistic um2

This whole article is cheap shit, although back to the original point - only Kylie could tell, and she doesn't because she's classy, unlike that DailyFail bitch "journo" trash1
