why do most hit singles released during 2010/2014 sound more like katy songs than gaga songs? other than On The Floor i cant think of anything gaga could have any influence on

And she didn't diss gay people in any of ha songs, unlike Katy um1

I will never let Katy forget the travesty that was "Ur So Gay". Literally her career is a wreck. She's coasted by appealing to the lowest common denominator i.e. the radio-listening, iTunes-buying GP who like a friendly and catchy hit but that's IT. She has zero creativity and zero lyrical mastery (how many of her songs have colloquialisms and cliché sayings? Roar is a disaster for this). Pretty much all of her music is a by-the-book Dr Luke (and the odd StarGate) production. I Kissed A Girl was no different - Dr Luke was doing the same stuff with Miranda Cosgrove, Pink and Paris Hilton a few years earlier.

(For what it's worth too, Katy Perry had the worst Dr Luke music in that period anyway because Circus trumps it all)

SHE MADE A RAPE VIDEO WITH RAPIST!!

RAPE

RAPE

RAPE!!!!

it actually wasnt a meant to be a rape video though shrug1

the whole theme of the song is "DO WHAT YOU WANT WITH MY BODY", which clearly a reference to giving consent if i've ever heard one shrug1

it was only seen as "rapey" because of the people involved in the video, aka terry richardson who has worked with literally every pop star, and R. Kelly who was only added because he fit the R&B vibe of the song shrug1

also im glad my fave knew it was cringey as fuck and canned it, while yours thought her lowkey homophopic proaganda was "edgy" and gave the single a full release and a video shrug1 the one where she tells a presumably "gay" man (or a man who "acts gay") to hang himself with his H&M scarf shock1

My trinity is pretty much the same but instead of Fingerprints I'd choose Self Inflicted or If You Can Afford Me dead2

Lol @ @Salvatore proving once again proving he's a fake Gaga stan by upvoting the delusional Gaga haters cheryl1

I seriously don't get the Gaga hate on this site. cry8

Do the Katy stans hate ha cuz Gaga is far superior? dead2

Do the Madonna stans hate ha cuz she's basically a more talented and creative version of Madonna? dead2

I know @Philip hates ha cuz she was already more iconic than Xtincta with ha first album dead2

Y'all should just let it go. LG5 is coming soon. Do you really want to remain salty when Gaga is dominating again?dead2

So if you make a video using rape to stay controversial and work with not one but Two rapists and then don't release the video because of the backlash it's ok. Because using rape for """"""creative""""" purposes is ok. Even if you become a spokesperson for rape victims

If you're hate rape so much then you should boycott Katy's whole discography cuz it was produced by a rapist.

Sis...the plot of the video leaked. She wakes up pregnant after Dr. R(apist) Kelly "examined" her. sia4

Anyway, back in 2008 when I first heard Just Dance I literally thought it was just another one-hit-wonder song by some basic pop girl. I thought she was brunette and more ethnic based on just her voice. I literally had no idea she was this huge innovative art pop queen of the gays whatever kind of girl. The song was enjoyable but really nothing great or exciting for me back then. It was a mild success (at first) in Germany. Kind of a slow burner.

Katy on the other hand was instant. That song was a great debut. The perfect mix of controversy and commercial pop music. I imagined her to be more like P!nk until I saw the video. Then again, I really didn't expect her to have as much longevity either.

Comparing these two, Katy definitely had the less basic debut. The intention may have been gay-pandering but that already makes it less basic than a song about a dance party, regardless of it being genuine or not.
