Gwen is a different type of breed than most of our manufactured faves, she fronted her band, went on to have succesful features, cameos , eventually a solo career, a fashion line, acting roles . Her career is more organic and she really never had to be overtly sexual or resort to some of the cheap tricks our favs have . What pop girl wouldn't kill for an album like LamB.

No Doubt was one of the greatest things ever came from the 90s but her solo career is a joke. Also, L.A.M.B. and The Sweet Escape were experimental? how? both are nothing more than a westernized version of J-pop culture. At least she has Tragic Kingdom under her belt

Being legend has nothing to with age.

Tina Turner started her solo career when she was 35. She was a flop during the 70s.

In the beginning of the 80s, during her 40s, she became successful as a solo artist.

Not even one girl has done something great as LAMB. Calling it poor doesn't make sense. Especially if we know that the most of the girls released albums similar to or even worse than The Sweet Escape and her newest album (both solid efforts with some amazing stuff).

LAMB was experimental. Of course it was inspired by Asian sounds and styles, but that doesn't mean it is a rip off or whatever. It was a great and unique. It was artistic and accessible  at the same time.

The Sweet Escape had some experimental stuff. Wind It Up for example.

I think the bigger question is why is anyone hung up on sensationalistic and endlessly interpretive terms such as "legendary" and "Iconic?" They ultimately hold no weight. 

 

Here are some random facts off the top of my head:

- Tragic Kingdom is a Diamond selling album (and 14m+ worldwide)

- Don't Speak was the largest airplay hit of 1996 (16 weeks at no. 1; it was not allowed to chart on BB Hot 100)

- LAMB has sold over 7m copies worldwide and was nominated for AOTY at the Grammy's

- Hollaback Girl was officially the second biggest song of 2005 according to Billboard's year end chart and also the first song to sell 1m copies in iTunes, pushing the platform's popularity.

- The LAMB clothing and accessory line is one of the most successful high end celebrity lines ever.
