In case you don't want to watch the video Philando is dying while the officer is still pointing the gun at him after already shooting him 4 times in the arm for reaching into his pocket when asked for registration. This is the 2nd thread I've made about police shootings in 24 hours

So fucking sad. In 24 hours we lost another citizen to cop brutality. The ending was so upsetting, she stayed calm and civil despite everything, then finally breaking down, and the daughter telling her "Im right here with you"

What baffles me is this level of brutality by police is so widely spread in America. Forgive me if this sounds like I am making this into some sort of comparison statement, but in the UK police are not that brutal and most don't carry firearms unless their unit deals with terrorism. Now as far as I am aware, the police remain calm and diplomatic here and only apply force when necessary, even still the objective is to handcuff and arrest, not handcuff and shoot dead. It scares me. Especially knowing these US police officers will be given a tap on the wrist and be allowed to excuse their actions based on 'self defence and fear for their own safety'.

Oh no, everything you said is 100% right. The cops who killed both of these men will go free, with no jail time. In America today, a cop can gun down a black man for no reason and face no due process.

Omg... I feel outraged, I'm crying right now, hope many people watch the video so that everyone gets that not anyone should be able to become a part of the police, and that laws need to change....
