Bernie endorses Hilliary

The Vermont senator, appearing with Clinton at Portsmouth High School, congratulated Clinton for winning the Democratic nominating process and said she "will be the Democratic nominee for president and I intend to do everything I can to make certain she will be the next president of the United States."

"I have come here today not to talk about the past but to focus on the future," Sanders said. "That future will be shaped more by what happens on November 8 in voting booths across our nation than by any other event in the world. I have come here to make it as clear as possible as to why I am endorsing Hillary Clinton and why she must become our next president."

Other joint appearances are still being nailed down, according to Sanders' campaign.

The rally drew supporters of Clinton and Sanders, some of whom chanted "Bernie" while others chanted "unity." Some Sanders supporters left their seats when Sanders said he was endorsing Clinton. Earlier when Sen. Jeanne Shaheen said "we need to elect Hillary," she was interrupted shouts of "NO!" and chants of "Bernie, Bernie."

The appearance in the Granite State, where Sanders trounced Clinton in the Feb. 9 primary and received more votes than any other candidate in the contest's history, recalls the moment in 2008 when Clinton and then-senator Barack Obama held their first large rally together in Unity, N.H., after Clinton conceded the Democratic nomination race to Obama.

Bernie Sanders dramatically shined a light on the corruptness of Washington. I was a Bernie supporter before he ran, and I am so proud of his campaign that he ran, and even though that many of us believe that is was rigged from the beginning and Bernie Sanders deserved to represented the country, I am so proud from seeing him last year in Storm Lake IA when he was at 4%. Bernie Sanders earned all of his votes and money fair and square unlike other candidates. Though me and many others are disappointed of the outcome, we will continue to work for progress on all levels to enact the goals to make America an place for the working class citizen and protect social security and to enact health care for all. I also want to see Citizens United repealed so people can't buy elections like some people did in 2016. The DNC and RNC and super delegates need to be removed so people can not crown candidates like they did in 2016. I am very disappointed with several of the candidates running on both sides of the aisle. I urge all supporters to go to Philadelphia to have their voices heard for true democracy, which in many ways did not exist in 2016. I will give my personal endorsement to Jill Stein of Green Party if she is on your state ballot, because she shares Bernie's platform to a large extent and if Green gets 5% next election, they get federal funding. I would also say to write in Bernie Sanders if Jill isn't on your ballot or you are loyal to Bernie. Please do not vote Hillary or Donald Trump. Hillary was against gay marriage until 2014, for NAFTA, and took millions of from Wall Street, and allowed black people to become imprisoned, and against a progressive platform. Donald Trump is the 0.1%, went bankrupt 3 times, and is a bigot and idiot. Please will also stay involved in the debates and expose corruption by both parties, Democratic and Republican.

Like... I get it. I was Team Bernie too but these stans need to get OVER it because he is literally NOT going to win/get the nomination. Chanting Bernie and that shit is disrespectful to Hillary, because she is the one who is actually still IN the race and CAN beat Trump. Like stop being delusional and throwing temper tantrums about it. Bernie doesn't even want people doing that shit so it's also disrespectful to him, and thats the T rav1

Although it was sort of expected, I still wasn't very sure if he's going to do it. But it's a good thing, hopefully he changes some of his supporters' minds, especially those who would rather vote Trump instead of Clinton. When you have two bad candidates you pick the relatively better one hottie1

i find this beyond hypocritical after all he's said about her. it reflects worse on him than anything.

just your usual day of politics.

And he was a hypocrite right from the start.

He was being incredibly selfish when he kept dragging her and wouldn't end his campaign. He weakened her and his party to a great extend with the hate he spewed about her. If he cared one little bit about the country he would have made sure that the winning Democrat would get votes.

Yet, his main interest was becoming president. Hypocritical as fuck if you ask me. I'm glad he stopped and actually proved that he cared more about making sure Trump is not going to be president.

ok but would you rather have Trump be president? brit5

You'd be surprised at how many Hillary haters would truly rather have Trump. jj4

I'm proud of Bernie. I voted for him in my primary and I supported him throughout his campaign, but now i'm glad he's endorsed Hillary and is encouraging his voters to support her.

For other Bernie voters not following him to the Hillary campaign trail, i'd just ask you to consider two things:

1. Please don't write Bernie in if he has conceded and is no longer running. In most states, you have to file paperwork to be considered as a write-in vote, and several states (including California) throw away write in votes. Very few states accept straight up write in votes, and if he has decided to concede and not put in the effort for an independent write-in vote, you are wasting a vote and stamping your feet. Vote Jill Stein instead if you cannot vote for Hillary. As @lautnerfied said, if the Green Party reaches a certain percentage of votes, they will be eligible for federal campaign funding. Jill has almost the exact same platform as Bernie, and is even farther to the left of him on certain issues. Use your vote for something else important if you won't vote Hillary.

2. Please, please, PLEASE do not vote for Donald Trump as a fuck you to Hillary. If you do that, you have literally spit on everything Bernie has campaigned for these past fourteen months. There are a few spots on the Supreme Court that the next President will likely have to fill, and that person cannot be Trump. Decades of a SCOTUS Justice's term is nothing compared to four or eight years of a single Presidency. Trump will fuck many things up as President, but most of all, he will put us into an ultra conservative SCOTUS, and we will be under extreme right wing rule for decades. That is not worth making a point against Hillary.

Don't come at Bernie for being hypocritical as fuck. He's literally the most honest candidate I've ever seen. He had to do this to beat Trump. Hillary has stolen all of Bernie's ideas and flipped-flopped on her own campaign so much. she's just stealing all his thunder for herself. nicki2

"His main interest was becoming president"

What the FUCK do you think the others are doing? Hillary lied SO MUCH about Bernie to get where she is. She mocked him for not standing by her in 1994 when she passed healthcare reforms. There's literal PROOF and VIDEO EVIDENCE of him standing NEXT TO HER in '94 at a healthcare reform speech and she even personally thanked him back then.

Its fucking Hillary supporters who ruined his campaign, not the other way around. When you mock a man for his intent on presidency by his means of rising from nothing and gaining donations of average Americans to show he is for us yet you have Hillary buying corporate endorsements and $2000 speeches left and right. kesha2

It's funny that SO MANY people are gonna vote Hillary despite everyone hating her. Literally no one praises her morals or values, not even her blinded fans. We had the chance to vote for an honest man who has DECADES of records standing on the right side of history (Civil rights in 60s, gay rights in 80s) and then there's Hillary who just became Team Gay in 2013 conveniently near her stretch to run. rav1

Fuck Hillary. I'm voting for her cuz Trump scared the literal shit out of me and Jill doesn't stand a chance, which would only help Trump by voting Jill, but seriously...

Fuck Hill-liar Clinton. She's been a hypocrite her whole life. She can suck a bag full of wrinkly dicks.  sass1
