Why is Lily Allen never grouped with the alternative/indie pop girls?

...and? um2

It was nowhere near the quality her first two albums had. I actually stan those two albums, but Sheezus isn't worhty of her name attached to it. She even said herself she hated the singles and everything. It's like she herself also knew the album was not that good. She tried way too hard to be funny with a lot of puns and everything, while the albums before were good and funny, because she wasn't trying, they just were.

I still listen to Alright, Still and It's Not Me, It's You from time to time, while Sheezus remains in the trash where I left it.

Before you think I'm a hater or anything, i truly hope her new album will slay, and I think it will cause I have a feeling she learnt from it.

Her label sounds annoying, I love how she very openly says that they fucked up the project. yas2

Lol stop lying, she didn't say that, She was only against Air Balloon and SOWK, but she she begged for HOH to be first single so she had to backrack. She said it herself that it was her favorite album she's done (in PJ interview), but after its release when she was asked about its sales (DigitalSpy) she said that she doesn't know what to think, and that maybe it wasn't good enough in public's eyes, she still loved it and believed in it.

It's easily better than INMIY, but go ahead and stan sales and bandwagon she had at the time clap3

The fact you think I stan sales when I stan people y'all don't even know about. Don't even try. Like Jon Bellion and BANKS sell millions honey. dead2

It's Not Me, It's You is the better album in my opinion and the critics + the public seem to agree with me.

And she made that statement on twitter after she already released Hard Out Here, Air Balloon, L8 CMMR and Our Time. That's like almost half of the album already fall4

From her PJ interview

Are you okay with ‘Our Time’ being a single?
Yes!

If you didn’t have to sell any records to people, what would the first three singles have been?
‘Hard Out Here’, ‘Sheezus’, ‘Insincerely Yours’. Or ‘Close Your Eyes’. Or ‘As Long As I Got You’.

Can you rank your albums 1-3? Which is best?
Well I thought they were all the best at the time of release but I’d say this one, ‘Sheezus’, is Number One, ‘It’s Not Me, It’s You’ at 2 and ‘Alright, Still’ at 3.

Why did you release ‘Hard Out Here’ while ‘Somewhere Only We Know’ was still riding high in the charts?
The record company came to me with the idea of doing ‘Somewhere Only We Know’ and there was a negotiation between me and the record company: I said, “okay, I will do ‘Somewhere Only We Know’, for which I will not take a fee and will probably see no financial gain, only if you pay for a video for ‘Hard Out Here’ just for it to appear in its viral capacity.”

It's kinda funny how people only started trashing Sheezus once it flopped. If you listen it without looking at its sales you hear same ironic, bitchy, deep Lily in it.

She's said she wanted Sheezus to be the lead single before right?

Who is the third one?

I think Lilly was too successful commercially to be considered indie and the last time she put out music she was doing the "ironic pop" thing, so her indie music era is too long ago.

Lorde hasn't put out music in a while either but she will soon and it will most likely earn her a few more awards (undeservingly).

It's because she loves to play the tabloid darling. I know Lana and Marina don't do that. We know their personal life through their music. Lily on the other hand, falls into the category of tabloid celebrity where her personal life and behavior sometimes overshadow her works, kinda like Amy Winehouse. She's simply more famous/commercial than those other girls. She was the face of chanel ffs and that's as mainstream as you get  eve1  Lily Allen is a certified popstar    bey3
