Did Britney take the worst decision of her career?

Recommended Posts

When she decided to sing in that nasally tone baby voice thing which ruined her voice? oprah12

I'm not going to blame it only on the producers for that,Britney took that decision too because she wanted to suck on money and fame so it was her fault as well. oprah8

The question is did she take the wrong decision?

She would have been able to sing like this or even better now:

Do you think she should have kept her vocal talent?

Also what would Britney Spears be as a powerhouse vocalist? I mean would she be a flop maybe? fall2

Urm I don't really know... brit5 vocal talent is a bit of a reach, maybe for the first era she had vocal talent. But she has always been heavily edited/produced/modified in some way...(not that it stopped her from outselling the ''voice of a generation'' though xtina2)

I'm talking about before her first album where the baby voice thing started. She had definitely vocal talent sis...

I think that if she wouldn't sing with the nasally baby voice, she probably would've been dropped by the label (or maybe not even signed). They wanted an artist with a unique tone, and that's what Britney has by singing the way she does. I don't think she had a choice but to sing like they wanted her to in order to achieve her dream.

From a commercial standpoint I think it was the right thing to do. Her Britney voice is one of her signature assets to be honest.

I mean Brenda Joan was the worst "decision". But it's a true shame she doesn't sing more in her natural lower register, we only got it really on her debut and that's it. Her baby voice is iconic though.

The way she uses her voice isn't the annoying part. It's the over editing, which started with Blackout and has steadily gotten more robotic with time.

The tone she has is unique and nice. She still sounds fine when she's doing a song thats not edited like crazy.

i dont think it ruined her voice. it may lead to some damage but the high belts that other singers do are more taxing on the voice, and most of them get by just fine

if her voice is gone, i feel like theres other reasons

To answer the question, it was not the worst decision of her career. It was the best, it allowed her to become the Britney Spears.

From a commercial standpoint I think it was the right thing to do. Her Britney voice is one of her signature assets to be honest.
