Donald Trump has been Elected President of the United States

Recommended Posts

I... don't really know what to say. I went to bed about 7 hours ago and Clinton's odds of winning just became 50-50 (despite being 90-10 earlier in the evening) so at that point, I knew it was over. It was truly serving BrExit. However, it doesn't really hit you until its been properly announced. As a non-American, I don't see this affecting me - yeah it'll affect the world as a whole, but not the little people outside of the US very much. But I can't help but feel great sadness and empathy for all y'all Americans. It's a shame to see in-rooted hate winning both here and in the US this year. Donald Trump - the man who was literally only known here because of his golf course 4 years ago - becoming Us president... going from Obama... twice... to this. Horrifying. But Don't lose hope y'all. Stay safe, stay strong and stay proud. gaga7

Well, Donald, you got the job.

Now you gotta fucking do it.

Sidenote: Germany, France - pay attention - because this populist-national wave is about to hit you guys next.

Don't believe snide pollsters and experts - it can happen.

it has already been happening here since approx. 2 years. The conservative, populist, homophobe and racist party, called AFD, has gained and is still gaining voters, which consist of former NPD (nazi party) and CDU (Merkel's party) voters.

Yes, your're right. The US election has once again proven, how dumb it is to trust any kind of pre-election polls.

while clinton is far, far better than trump on most issues, obviously has way more experience in politics and works very hard...and i have no doubt that some people couldn't vote for her partially or mainly because she's a woman...and i certainly wanted her to defeat trump....

let's not pretend like hillary is this saint that is just oh so "good and makes nice"...and what little girls can learn is that you shouldn't be as corrupt, elitist, lying, two-faced, and warmongering as she is, and maybe you'll have a better shot at defeating an incompetent buffoon like trump, especially in an era where people are sick of establishment politics.

I am not a Clinton apologist. Prior to her party nominating her, I was 1000000% against her being nominated. But this stopped being a political race for me the moment Trump became the republican nominee. There is no scenario in which you can convince me that Trump is the answer to "establishment politics."   And you can't convince me that electing a woman-hating sexual abuser over his over qualified female opponent isn't the actual definition of sexism.

I'm shocked. You know, i knew he had his followers since this started but i was sure that once this day comes that people would simply vote for less evil candidate (let's not fol ourselves, Hillary is no saint). I thought he didn't stood a chance against her.

I think her having so big mainstream support also backfired a bit. She destroyed him in debates... I don't know what happened.

Donald fucking Trump is the president of United States. Sounds like a joke.

what an ugly wake up call.  from this we learned the amount of scumbags out there...they were hiding in the shadows in large numbers before, but now that their hero trump has stood up and said what they secretly felt, they can advocate their disgusting ways with pride.  the establishment and the media hopefully also learned that people are fed up with the status quo and were obviously desperate for change, ANY change apparently...and the right man to implement that change would have been Bernie, but since he was denied the nomination, well, people sadly fled to trump.  hopefully next time they won't put up a cold, calculated, corporatist candidate like clinton, no matter how "qualified" they think he or she is.  everyone said she was gonna win...hell, yesterday some publications had her at a 90%+ chance of winning...sorry, people are sick of politicians of old.  time for something new.  warren 2020 would be a good bet...

This oprah13 Part of me is glad Trump won. jj4

im not saying he's the right answer to establishment politics...but obviously (and sadly) a lot of people felt that way, i mean he won after all....

sexism obviously played a role but one would be foolish to think it's the only major reason she lost. people needed something to vote for, not just against. regardless of how you may feel about obama, he gave people something to vote FOR, with an inspiring message of hope and change...clinton, not as much. what was her main focus? I'm better than this monster? not good enough. she was the lesser of 2 evils and that wasnt enough to motivate enough people to go out and vote.

So it's official. A racist, misogynistic, ignorant, homophobic man is now in charge of this country with his equally horrible VP. I'm in shock. This is an embarrassment for our country. We just took 2

i hope he gets killed before officially taking office
