What you call 'dated production' is actually what made LAP so critically acclaimed. She recorded a pop album the way Sinatra recorded his album. All live instruments and mostly one vocal take. I mean, that subtle sobbing when she sang the second verse of Promise To Try kills me every time.  cry9 

Love Song is special because it's a total collaboration between Prince and Madonna. Prince on Guitar, Madonna on synth and that's it. Time goes by so slowly for those who wait and those who run seems to have all the fun I'm Hung Up    tea2
