In a way, cause most K-pop artists chart in Japan, or release their songs in both Korean and Japanese. But pure Japanese artists have it's own success like

 

Some songs that are successful are QUITE hard to find via Youtube because they don't post them on Youtube.

While K-Pop, on the other hand tends to go with the international trend in pop music

K-Pop, apart from being in Korean and not in Japanese, is much more international in its sound, like Kyoteki said above, unlike J-Pop which sounds like its own thing without aiming to please the international masses as much.

They're seriously too good.  I can't wait for the CE tour to air. I still need to get into Utada, I love Fantome but haven't checked her previous albums.
