Presenting something =/= promoting it. She didn't advocate for pedophilia or rape, her whole point (not only during that era but during her entire career) is that things should be discussed in public and not kept taboo, that's the only way for social progression, whether it's about the LGBT community, AIDS, sexuality or the catholic church's hypocrisy. 

To each their own, I don't get why you can't just appreciate Madonna (just like I appreciate Mariah on a very basic level) for what she's about instead of trying to criticize her for what she's not.
