Exclusive: ET On Gaga's Halftime Show

When Lady Gaga hits the Super Bowl stage, at least one subject will be off limits: Politics.

A source close to the halftime show tells ET, "Lady Gaga was told by the NFL that she cannot say anything or bring anything up about the election, or mention Donald Trump."

Gaga's personal opinions on the election have hardly been a mystery. The 30-year-old pop star had been a prominent supporter of Hillary Clinton and was photographed holding a "Love Trumps Hate" sign outside New York's Trump Tower following the election results.

As for a report that Gaga is plotting a potentially dangerous performance, aiming to sing from the roof of Houston's NRG Stadium, ET's source says that speculation about cutting a hole in the roof are inaccurate.

"The roof at NRG Stadium is retractable," they said, "so I'm not sure why they would need to cut a hole in the roof."

Regarding the rumors, a representative for the NFL said: "People will have to wait and see what we have in store – we never comment on speculation about the show because there is so much misinformation that surfaces. But we are confident Lady Gaga will put on a tremendous show for fans."

One thing fans should also expect is a special guest performer, though there's no word yet on who that might be.

"She is having a guest join her during a song," ET's source confirms, noting that it's been "tough getting a guest to sign on."

"Two artists said no when they were asked to join her," the source said.

Clearly the best (and obvious) choice to join Gaga on stage is Beyonce. Not only is the Super Bowl happening in Bey's hometown of Houston, the pair collaborated on Gaga's "Telephone" back in 2010. Plus, if there's a Super Bowl Halftime Show and Beyonce isn't there to perform, did the Super Bowl Halftime Show even really happen?

Gaga has been working hard to make the performance an unforgettable one. On Monday, the "Million Reasons" singer revealed that she had built a tent in her backyard with a dance floor for rehearsals.

the gaga brand is just lackluster in 2016, if this was 2011 the story would be different.

This actually surprises me a lot. Even if she doesn't have as much "star power" as before, she is still regarded as a very respectable musician by a big portion of the music industry. She has also performed with some very big names in the past and The Superbowl is such a huge event, I find it very strange -to say the least- that anyone would pass on the opportunity to perform on it.

Yeah. There could be million reasons why someone can't be a guest. jj2  Some artists simply don't want that.

Maybe the ones who were asked had other obligations. lj1

Maybe even Beyonce refused, because she doesn't want to do it again. Or maybe she wasn't get a call at all. It would be more interesting that she brings unexpected guests.

So there will be only one guest? um1

What about Tony? Was it a rumor that he would join her on stage? jj3

As much as I would love Bey to join her and perform Telephone I doubt it  I think they both dislike the song and I doubt Bey will do it 3 times in 4 years
